The main Character loses his mother. And he becomes a vampire.
Chapter One

I've stopped closing my curtains closed tight. No need. As the full moon rises, it rose in front of a dozen gray clouds. Beautiful. Morning will be dark which means no need to hide what I truly am.

I finally shut my eyes until I heard a scream. A hand covered my mouth. My mother's voice echoed in the hallway. My heart thudded hard against my chest. My whole body quivered. I didn't realize I was screaming, because the pain was overwhelming. My heart came to a sudden stop and in that moment I died.

My body lay on the floor as I stared down at it. I gasped. And then the unexpected happened. I was back in my body. My body? NO! Another body. The masked people were gone. I ran into my mother's room. Nothing. I ran outside the back door. Backing up when I saw a figure at the corner of my eye.

"Mother," I yell.
"Mother!" No movement.

A red liquid lay underneath her. Blood.

My heart shrank and my head was spinning as the smell of blood hit my nose hard. Without thinking I licked the blood which tasted sweet like candy in the store. I couldn't stop. The smell was so intoxicating, I lost control of myself.

A siren sounded. The noise was penetrating against my ears I couldn't think. I ran as fast as I could. And in that very moment in the forest I wasn't myself. I was a vampire. My greatest fear. I became the monster I've been killing for years. And sadly today was my eighteenth birthday the day I, Dimitri Rodriguez, died and re-born a blood thirsty vampire.

Chapter Two

The wind rustled in the trees. Footsteps sounded behind me, turned to see nothing. She landed in front of me laughing. I backed away and fell on the floor. "Clumsy there tiger," she giggled holding out her hand. I reluctantly took it. "A smart vampire would have stood his ground. So I'm guessing new-born?" Her dark eyes glaring into mine.

I looked down realizing our hands still touching. I let go quickly. "My name is Katara." She said turning away. I nodded. "Dimitri." She circled me. "Where you from?" She asked. I hesitated. "I live about two miles back." She looked down. "You can't go home? Or what?" She asked. I shook my head. "No miss. I can't."

"Follow me," she grabbed my hand and I unwillingly followed. We jumped from tree to tree, landed in bush after bush and then we came to a stop. Ah so this is where you've all been hiding. I smiled in amusement as vampires stared at me. Hissing loudly. Everyone did. We stood in front a man and a woman.

"Mother and Father I have found him," she bowed. I didn't. "I have brought to you a new-born." The woman with blue eyes approached me. She touched my face. "Pain," she whispered staring into my eyes. "Vampires do not feel pain!" The man sniffed the air. "He's half human." He was taken aback and so was the woman and Katara.

"How so?" Asked the woman. He chuckled. "He can feel my love." She nodded. "You may stay here. What is your name boy?" She asked. "Dimitri." "You may go Dimitri." As we walked away I kept looking back. "Who are they?" I asked suddenly interested in what I have discovered so far.

"They are my parents. They own stray vampires who do not have a home." She answers. I nod. "They don't own me. Nobody does," I chuckle. She led me into a tunnel with a human hostage. I swallowed hard, as a girl with big green eyes and curly red hair growled at me. "Why must you have human hostages? " I asked feeling a little angry.

"It's uh, well. That doesn't matter, just stay away from her. I nodded.

The night passed by slowly. I was alone now and wandered back to the hostage gate. It smelled awful. She stared at me with hatred. Damn she's creepy why am I here? My fist clenched and I felt the urge to hit her. I held back. She growled as I approached her.

"Shh." I pleaded. She moved her head as I touched it. Blood dripped from the side of her face. "I won't hurt you." I promised. She didn't speak. I ripped my shirt and wiped her face. She stared at me confused. "Why are you helping me?" She asked. I smiled. "To be honest I used to kill these things." She smirked. "You're human."

I nodded. "Earlier today my mother and I were attacked by vampires. They killed my mother and turned me. Well half of me." She shook her head. "Half, but that's physically impossible." I shrugged. "You either become one of them or you die." "I didn't know vampires held humans hostage." I chuckled. She turned away. "I'm Dimitri." She turned her head back to me. "My name is Breanna."

Breanna's P.O.V

His eyes changed and burned into mine. And in that moment I felt connected to a vampire. My enemy. His bronze and black hair blew in the wind of the tunnel. My heart thudded against my chest. I wanted to say something, but I looked down to see his massive abs. He watched me as I bit my lip. I'm drooling over a vampire, who thinks I'm human.

He watched me with concern. "Are you alright?" I nodded. "Peachy." He laughed. "Peachy? Who says peachy? Let's get out of here." My arms were tied to chains. I couldn't help but to stare at him as he took the chains off. "It's my birthday," he said smiling. I shook my head. "How old are you?"

He fiddled with the chains. "I just turned 18." Right on time I thought. "And you?" He asked. "17." The chains finally came off. "Thank you, Dimitri."
