The Doomshadow

A darkness is falling and the land is plunged into turmoil. It is up to A dragon king, a talking wolf and two teenager to free the world of darkness by finding the lost krystals of light.
As the DoomShadow approaches the realm of Terraurgen its mighty protector Thoron god of dragons grows weak and the land is plunged into an everlasting night.
The orcs from Dragon Mountain take advantage of this and start the Great War. The Norvagen and Draigar armies are forced to work together to stop them killing Thoron, while trying to destroy the Doom Shadow. The Norvagen Oslef Vasterlan and the Draigar king Padraig command their joined army known as the Fyren to build the golden gates of Marauders Cliff to hold off the orcs.

"An army of orcs coming from the south" shouted a lookout from the top of Draigar castle. "Orcs coming from the west" came a second cry, "They have us fenced in apart from the northern sea sir"
"Enough" Yelled Padraig, "get the boats ready prepare the artillery!"
"Yes sir " came the reply of his son Dev. Dev was a 15-year-old boy with blond hair that always managed to fall in his face, he had a birth mark that looked like fire that stated from his right eye and went across to his left eye, he also had a small blond goatee. Dev ran towards the dragons,

"Dev" came a cry "you should take Shadow Bane"
"Why" Dev questioned the old man who wore turquoise armor and a helmet with two carved bones fixed to the top. His hair had gone gray years ago.
"He is a lot faster than Talon Blaze" the old man replied
"Thanks Vasterlan" he said with a smile
"Be careful" Vasterlan said in a worried tone

"I will" and with that Dev mounted and flew off towards the gates of Marauders cliff. Shadow Bane was a brown dragon with black talons and horns, his eyes were bright yellow and his gaze was fiery.
Dev had been sent to give Ostgard, the second in charge of the Norvagen a message from Padraig and Vasterlan and to help guard the gates. As they landed Shadow bane looked out towards the sea.
"They are coming, and they are not alone..." the dragon said in a grumbly voice.
Dev looked out to the sea then towards Ostgard.
"We must warn Ostgard" then Dev climbed down and ran over to Ostgard. He handed over the piece of parchment.

"What is it young prince?" Ostgard asked with a puzzled look on his face. Dev drew in a breath and started to explain when he remembered the ships closing in.
"Ostgard there is a ship coming toward us, Shadow Bane says it is an orc ship and is accompanied by a dragon..."he trailed off.
"This is a letter giving permission to search and attack ships if necessary...So let's get these orcs!! "Came a firm reply.

Everyone was preparing for war alone when they heard an almighty roar Dev spun around to see the Midgaard the blue dragon that guards the Man-o-war the Norvagen battle ship, cheers ran through the army as it drew closer, the big wooden ship had a dragon head and wings carved into the front and a big cabin at the back.
Ten men ran towards the gates to open them and they smashed against their stone stoppers. The Man-o-war sailed through and was soon in position. The enemy ship drew closer and then stopped, a loud crash accompanied by the sound of splintering wood echoed around. One of the orcs had dropped a canon ball sending it crashing through the deck. A load voice yelled out, "Your gunna sink the ship and the war hasn't even started yet!!!"

Ostgard raised his staff high above his head and yelled fire, the sound of a hundred cannons firing rung throughout the land. The Sea Dragon the orcs ship came closer it was twice as big and was pulled by a massive dragon by the name of Thok. Immediately the whole Fyren army realized they weren't just dealing with orcs but their master know only as The Lord of Rain and Night an evil sorcerer devoted to death and destruction. The war had well and truly begun...

Ostgard ran over to Dev who was standing amidst the smoke from the cannons.
"Dev get back to the castle, and give this to your father!" he shouted over the noise.
"Ok! Where did Shadow Bane go?" Dev asked,
'Over there Dev!"Ostgard said, pointing towards a rocky out crop,

"Thanks!" Dev shouted as he ran off, cannons blasted all around him. Dev scrambled up the embankment to find the dragon waiting. He sprinted over and climbed onto his back.
"We must get to Draigar castle now!" he told the Dragon, he was answered by a grunt as they took off. The dragons' wings were flapping with incredible power as they soared up towards the clouds. Dev gazed out over the vast ocean that continued so far out that it remained mostly uncharted, behind him the land was flat and feature less, apart from the ancient relics standing in the middle of the windswept plain; to the left of the plains was Griffins Grove, a forest with a big clearing in the middle of it, beyond that, the Pearl river and the only bridge across it, Of Duels Bridge, well, what's left of it, on the other side of the river stood Dragon Mountain the home of Lord Of The Night and his army of orcs. Devs' Mind wandered. The beat of Shadow Banes wings lulling him towards sleep.
Dev awoke when they were nearing Draigar castle, he turned around to find they were being followed.

"Kyra?" Dev said in surprise,
"Who else would it be... don't worry Ostgard sent me, we are both needed at your castle" Said the girl, she was about the same age as Dev her black hair was cut in a bob and she wore red armored clothes. She was wearing gold arm bands and had a quiver slung over her shoulder.
"Well then, welcome to my castle" Dev said sounding a little uneasy, the two dragons landed effortlessly on the cobble path. Shadow Bane was standing next to the other dragon, which was yellow-gray in color and not very tall, two horns stuck out of the top of his head. It looked very weak standing next to Shadow Bane.
Dev I am not as weak as you think,
Came a voice in Devs head,

I possess the power to speak to living and nonliving thing just by sending them my thoughts,
The voice said, Dev soon realized that it was the small dragon Kyra had been riding.
My name is Raider.
"Nice to meet you Raider" Dev said to the small dragon. Dev and Kyra walked off leaving the two dragons behind, they went up a set of stairs towards his father's chamber. They reached the top and came to a big red wooden door. Dev knocked twice, a guard in Golden armor with a short sword in his right hand opened the door. The room was made from red bricks that matched the door. Ten torches lined the walls and the big window on the right hand wall let in light as well as providing a view of the castle grounds. Dev glanced out; the two dragons were still on the cobble path at least 100meters down.

"Dev, Kyra welcome" said the King, They bowed.
"Father I have a letter for you, it's from Ostgard...Why do you need us here?" Dev said while handing over the letter. There was a long pause while Padraig read the letter. The king looked up with a confused look on his face.
"This says that there is only one ship attacking the gates...is this right Dev?"
"Yes father" Dev said reassuring his father, the king stood up and started to pace up and down the room. His footsteps echoed around the stone room. Padraig stopped and looked out the window toward the sea.

"But why only one?"
The king walked back over to his thrown and sat down. He was in deep thought, Dev and Kyra began to become impatient and Padraig noticed;
"Someone get these two something to sit on and something to eat" the old king Padraig said to one of the guards. The guard hurried out the door and latter returned with two stools, pillows and some sandwiches.
As Dev and Kyra sat down on their pillows Padraig stood up abruptly and started to talk when he was cut off by a knock at the door. The guard walked over and opened it. A knight in golden brown armor was standing there. He had a bow slung over his back accompanied by a quiver; he also had a long sword strapped to his left hip. Padraig turned around and glared at the man. His blond brown eyebrows furrowed in a frown.
"Longstrider. What brings you here?" said the king flatly,

Dev and Kyra exchanged glances of confusion. The man who Padraig had referred to as Longstrider took a step forward and bowed.
"Permission to speak my lord" the man said as he straightened up.
"You better come in then..."said the worried king "what do you want?" he continued as the man sat down next to Dev.
"Sir I thought you would like to see these... they are plans, Battle plans" said long strider pulling some rolls of parchment from his quiver "I copied them, they belong to the orcs... and the Dark Magician, the Lord Of The Night's apprentice, they are using these plans." he said as if answering the kings expression.

"I thought for a moment that you were going to tell me how to run my kingdom!" said the king with a hint of relief in his voice. "But how do you know about these?" the king was concerned because Longstrider was known to be loyal to who paid the most and rarely a good cause. Longstrider handed over the parchment and the king unraveled the plans. Dev glanced at Longstrider; he then turned to Kyra,
"Is that long strider the famous knight?" he whispered in her ear, Kyra just nodded seeming to take no notice.
Dev is your father expecting guests?
Raiders' voice interrupted Devs' thoughts. Because there are about seven people waiting to see him...
The voice trailed off.

"Father are you expecting some guests, say about seven?" Dev said worriedly,
"No Dev I am not, why?" his father said, his face showing an expression of pure confusion.
Devs' blond hair fell over his face; he brushed it back behind his ear.
"There are seven people down there waiting to see you" Dev said flatly, casting a glance toward the window.
"How do you know that?" his father, Padraig asked with a hint of amazement in his voice, looking toward the window himself.
"Raider told me," Dev said simply, "The dragon" he added, then shrugged.

His father walked over to the window and gazed down towards the cobble courtyard, searching for the seven men. They were all dressed in black robes and their hoods were pulled over their thin, pale white skin. One looked up towards the window and Padraig dodged out of view, their eyes were charcoal black and seemed to have a faint red glow about them. He drew in a shuddery breath then gasped. "Lock down the castle, Quick!" he said with a worried look in his eyes. "They are black magicians, evil sorcerers, they want me dead!!!"
