The Diary Of Blair Dockery 3 (Ending)

This is the end of the story I was writing. Please comment and tell me what you think.
September 20th 1917
At times like this I think all of us wish we could be home sitting on the couch telling stories and having laughs and giggles. Right now we're hiding for safety. Any second now a guns gonna fire and it will mean either life or death. Tommy about an arms length away looked ready as ever. No matter what happened out there we had each other's back. We had made a pact with one of our fellow mates named Acerickson. He wasn't exactly smart...Or stupid. But he knew how to get a perfect shot in when needed. Our lethal weapon is what he was.

The gun was shot and we ran fast as we could dogged bullets and all that sort. The cannons blew some men were lost. This bloody war in my mind was going to stop. We would fight to the finish we would fight to the death. We would fight till we had nothing left.

It was freezing in the hut which Tommy and I shared. I had to think of something to warm up. Then it hit me like a bullet to the head. I would get my way. Muwahahaha. Just kidding..Or maybe I wasn't. I looked at Tommy who was sitting on his cot sleeping. We didn't have long to be off front line. Maybe 3 weeks and that's it. I sat down and leaned my head back. Tommy stirred a little but didn't wake up. Perfect way to spend our Christmas. No family no friends. At least we had each other. I laid down on my cot and closed my eyes. Hopefully I could sleep in this freezing weather. Luckily I did.

I awoke in the middle of the night to Tommy waking me up gently. "Blair it's cold in here" he said. I smiled slightly. and lifted my arm so he could lie down. He laid down on the cot with me and pulled close. A thought came in to my head. "Hey love you know we could keep warm by doing something" I said. He hit me playfully in the arm. "Blair, your silly sometimes" he said. "Well you know you could warm up better with your clothes off" I said. "You just want my clothes off, don't you?" He asked. "Well it's true because of the stress of trying to stay warm you sweat and it's not good insulating" I said. "If you want sex just say so" Tommy said. I kisses his neck lightly and let my hand slide down to his waist band. He let out a slight moan. "Wait Blair you sure this cot is sturdy enough for this?" He asked. "I'll do it nice and slow so we won't break the cot" I said with a chuckle. I kissed him nice and slow down his neck...

The heat was a killer and these uniforms didn't help much. Tommy didn't seem to complain much but I couldn't help it. The heat was bound to kill me. We were in the trench and hiding. The minute that gun goes all hell would break loose. We would fight to the death. It would be the end but also the beginning. We stayed silently in our trench. I looked to Acerickson who was on the other side of me. He nodded and the gun sounded. Out of the trenches we run like a bat out of hell. Guns aimed and the shots fired. The last thing I heard was the shot of a gun and everything was gone.

November 12th 1918 (Dustin Dockery's Journal Part)
And so there sat the caskets upon the graveyard ground. The service was of but a blur. Nothing seemed real anymore. But the country was free. As of yesterday all the soldiers because heroes. The guns were put to rest and family reunited. The battle was won and men were lost. Souls lurked the dark grounds of battle for eternity.

No longer will the Soldier here the cries of the battlefield.
No longer will he feel alone.
The pride and honor he takes with him as his spirit goes.
No longer will the Soldier fight.
In the end he died a fast and painless death.
This is where the story ends. A soldier loses his life over a battle not worth
starting in the first place.
