The Day I Left You
Poetry cycle - My Teenage Years. Poetry I wrote in high school. Sometimes we do things we regret…
I’m sitting here writing this letter
I’m crying for you
I feel so bad about
The mistake I made
And how I must of hurt you
The day I left.
Last night I dreamed of you
I saw the tears in your eyes
When I turned away from you
I wish I’d never left, the day
I said good-bye to you.
This letter you’ll never read
‘Cause I realize I’ve hurt
You too much
To have you love me again.
I only wish I’d never
Said good-bye to you.
I’m crying for you
I feel so bad about
The mistake I made
And how I must of hurt you
The day I left.
Last night I dreamed of you
I saw the tears in your eyes
When I turned away from you
I wish I’d never left, the day
I said good-bye to you.
This letter you’ll never read
‘Cause I realize I’ve hurt
You too much
To have you love me again.
I only wish I’d never
Said good-bye to you.
