The Creatori 3
By the author of Decisions What’s going on? Callie’s just turned 16. But things are weird. On her way home she finds out that two of the neighbor's sheep have gone missing. No big deal right? But then she finds them outside her house, dead. Then upstairs in her bedroom, there’s a beautiful man sitting on her bed. Callie’s life is turned upside down as she finds out she is part of a species known as Creatori.
Excerpt from Callie’s notebook 40, 2008 (aged 15)
The door opened and closed downstairs. Callie’s head snapped up, she fixed her eyes on the door and swore quietly. Max chuckled.
"You’re language is terrible" he teased.
"I’m not in the mood for you right now, so shut UP!" she snapped and stood up. Max looked hurt and pouted like a little boy. If it were any other day Callie would’ve laughed, but right then she was feeling anxious. Because something bad was gonna happen. She could just feel it. She ordered Max to stay put and ran downstairs into the kitchen. Gina was putting away the shopping and Mikaela was at the counter admiring her nails.
"Um…Gina? Did you see anything at the side of the house?" I asked, hoping she’d say no. She looked at me weirdly but shook her head no.
"I got rid of them" Max whispered in my ear, I jumped and turned to see where he was, but he wasn’t there. Confused, I stomped up the stairs and flung myself on my bed. My life sucks! I screamed into my pillow.
"Deary me. And there’s me thinking that a gorgeous Immortal man like me turning up in your life made it better." he teased. Callie turned her head and glared at him. His mouth curved up into a delicious smile.
"I know. Shut up!" he squeaked in an imitation of Callie. She stuffed her face in her pillow to stop him from seeing her smile.
The rest of the day consisted of Callie telling Max to shut up, staring at him, imagining kissing him, and then worrying about the rest of her story. She had to admit that Max was funny and he knew it. And he was always complimenting her. She didn’t really understand why. Callie had shoulder-length brown hair which she usually kept out with a side fringe, dark brown eyes and delicate features. She had slightly tanned skin, a slim yet slightly curvy body and she was 5 foot 5. She only wore mascara, eyeliner and lip-gloss, unless it was an occasion. She considered herself average, or a little bit pretty.
She also remembered to cancel her get-together with Ange. Angelica was very perceptive. She’d know something was up the minute she saw Callie.
When she started to feel tired she had a shower, got into her night-clothes and got under her covers. She called out night to Max, who was sitting at her desk and being nosy, and closed her eyes.
Five minutes later she sat up, turned her bed-side lamp on and pointed at her window.
"Get out!"
"What! I haven’t done anything!" he cried.
"I can not sleep knowing that a Vampire is in my room, watching me. It’s creepy, I’m getting Goosebumps!"
"You are absurd! I’m not going to pounce on you, you know?! You’re not dinner!" he scoffed. Callie rolled her eyes and pointed again.
"Just get out Max. I can’t go to sleep with you here. Come back later when I’m asleep if you want" she whispered and lay down. Max sighed heavily, but left through her window and sat down in the fields. A few minutes later he heard her breathing slow down and he knew she was sleeping. He climbed back in, sat at her desk, and continued being nosy.
