The Christmas Wish

This is a Christmas Script, for my actors. Feel free to comment or like. Thanks.
Scene One, Introduction!

The narrator is on stage, center spotlight.
Behind him in the care home, center in the village.
Sitting on stage in the care home are all the kids, and Miss Nancy.

Narrator: "It was a cold, wet, frosty night. All the words to describe winter. The trees were frantically moving, and the snow was heavily falling. Oak Lane was a small village, with small sweet shops all around, and little markets. Everyone in the lane was always happily and bubbly. In the center of Oak Lane, was a foster home. In that Foster home lived a sixteen year old girl, Mia , and an eighteen year old boy, Mason.

Scene One, Act One

The narrator walks off stage, the spotlight moving onto the care home kids and Miss Nancy.

Nancy: "Right then kids, as well know its Christmas in two weeks! Can you believe it? It's come ever so fast..."

Amber: "I absolutely love Christmas, it's another chance for me to get anything I ask for!"

Nancy: "Yes Amber, but remember, Christmas isn't always about the gifts."

Amber: "Since when? Mother and father always got me massive expensive gifts, last Christmas they sent me my very own laptop, remember?"

Nancy: "And you broke it, remember. That's why people shouldn't buy expensive gifts all the time..."

Amber: "It was an accident!"

Nancy: "Yes. Anyway, my point of this conversation is I would like to do something fun for Christmas this year."

Roxie: "Do you mean like Christmas caroling?"

Nancy: "I think that idea would be awesome. We didn't do any Christmas caroling last year, so how about we do some this year?

Mia: "I don't think I can sing very well though Nancy..."

Skye: "Well thank goodness you can admit that. You sound like a choking cat!"

Nancy: "That's enough Skye! Any more of that nonsense, you won't be getting anything for Christmas. Do you understand?"

Skye: "But that is like, so unfair!"

Amber: "Isn't it your job to get us presents anyway, considering you're looking after us!?"

Nancy: "No Amber, it's up to me how I spend my money. I choose to get you all a little something because I'm kind. Now, on Christmas day we will do Christmas caroling. Does anyone have any song suggestions?"

Mason: "Jingle bells is a great song. It's the first song what was playing when I was born."

Nancy: "It was indeed. I have a whole file of your mother writing how much you loved that song..."

Amber: "It's such a shame he has to be here instead of his mother."

Mason: "You're not exactly one to talk! Your parents send you gifts all the time, but they don't want to take you back!"

Amber: "How dare you! My mother and father will come running into my arms one day, just you watch!"

Mason: "Well, I really hope that happens soon, because I can't stand seeing you or hearing your nonsense every morning."

Amber: "I'd watch who you're messing with if I were you, and besides you're just jealous that you don't hear from your parents!"

Nancy: "Amber and Mason that is enough! Any more out of you two and you'll be sent straight to bed! Now, I'm going to make some hot chocolate for you all, try to keep the peace!"

(Nancy exits' the stage, leaving the kids to carry on talking.)

*********************************************************

Scene One, Act Two

Mason, Mia, Amber, Skye and Roxie, sitting down.

Skye: "This year for Christmas, I'm asking for a new makeup set!"

Roxie: "You already have tons of makeup cases in your room Skye."

Skye: "Yes, but it's Christmas! I might as well ask for more!"

Roxie: "I think I'm just going to ask for a drawing pad..."

Amber: "How boring is that!"

Skye: "A drawing pad? You could get that from the 99p store across the road."

Roxie: "It's not about the money, remember?"

Amber: "Oh put a sock in it! I'm asking for a flat screen television, a new designer handbag and a designer coat, more makeup, more shoes, and of course, more money..."

Mia: "Jesus Amber, your parents must be rich."

Amber: "Of course they are. But I'm sure, Nancy will get me some more shoes and cloths too."

Mia: "I don't think that's the sort of budget she's doing."

Mason: "I'm sure she's only spending about three-pound per person..."

Amber: "Three pound per person, well that's a laugh in itself!"

Skye: "She must be so poor, what a shame!"

Mia: "Oh, don't be mean. She looks after us every day of her life, can't you just be happy with whatever you get?"

Roxie: "I feel another argument coming along, shall we just drop it now?"

Amber: "I think that's best, I'll end up hitting her if she's not careful!"

Roxie: So, what's everyone wishing for this Christmas? I'm just wishing for a boyfriend. It's been eight months!"

Skye: "Yes, but you cheated on Harry, and then he left the care home..."

Roxie: "You and Amber convinced me into cheating on him. I didn't know any better."

Amber: "I only told you to do that because I wanted him for myself. Dur!"

Roxie: "Oh."

Mia: "Aren't you all supposed to be friends?"

Skye: "What's your point?"

Mason: "Friends don't set each other up to steal their boyfriends..."

Amber: "Stay out of it Mason. You wouldn't know because you've never had a girlfriend, have you?"

Mason: "And how would you know!?"

Amber: "Oh, so you're saying you've had a girlfriend? When I asked you out two years ago, you said no!"

Mason: "Why would I want to be with you! You get worse by the minute!"

Amber: "Oh how dare you?"

Roxie: "Erm. I'm going to my room. Need some time to relax."

(Roxie leaves stage as everyone stares after her.)

*********************************************************

Scene One, Act Three

Amber, Mason, Mia, and Skye sitting down.

Mia: "I guarantee you, she's upset because of what you just said Amber."

Amber: "Who cares? Nobody said the truth would be nice all the time."

Skye: "Anyway, this year I'm wishing to see Santa. I know that's like what five years old wish for, but I really need to see him!"

Mason: "Why?"

Skye: "Because, it's been my wish ever since I was three! And it hasn't happened! I'm not giving up! I know he's out there, I just know it."

Amber: "Who cares about Santa?"

Mia: "You care about presents don't you?"

Amber: "And what's your point?"

Mia: "Christmas presents all originated from Santa, if you don't believe in him, why do you want so much presents?"

Amber: "Put a sock in it Mia."

Mason: "She's right. When you were little, you got presents from Santa. Some people believe he's fake or whatever, but others believe in him."

Amber: "Only the losers believe in him. The one's with a stupid imagination."

Skye: "Hey!"

Amber: "Erg, I can't do with this pathetic talk anymore. Santa is not real, so that wish Santa come true for you Skye. And Roxie can never get another boyfriend, so she might as well chuck that wish out the window adios bitches!

(Amber goes of stage, leaving the others to stare after her.)
(Nancy comes in with a hot chocolate tray.)

*********************************************************

Scene One, Act Four

Nancy comes to join the girls and boy.

Nancy: "Here is your hot chocolate everyone. Sorry it took so long, hey, where's everyone gone?"

Mason: "Amber's gone off in a mood, and I think Roxie's a bit upset."

Nancy: "Why is Roxie upset? The girls didn't fall out, did they?"

Mia: "I don't think so, thanks for the hot chocolate Nancy. It's delicious."

Nancy: "You're welcome. Skye, how about you take Roxie's and Amber's up for them."

Skye: "Do I have to?"

Nancy: "A bit of manners please Skye, now go on."

Skye: "Argh. Fine!"

(Skye leaves the room with the two hot chocolate trays.)
(The lights go down and the scene changes.)

*********************************************************

Scene Two, Act One

Roxie, Amber and Skye in the bedroom talking.

Skye: "Nancy told me to bring your hot chocolates up for you."

Roxie: "I'm not thirsty, but thanks Skye."

Amber: "Put mine over thereby the windowsill, so it will cool down. Don't just stare at me, do it!"

Roxie: "For goodness sake Amber, a bit of manners won't hurt you!"

Amber: "Why do I need manners? I don't meet anyone."

Roxie: "You know me and Skye, and you treat us with the least amount of respect."

Amber: "Is that a problem?"

Roxie: "Look, all I'm saying is a bit of manners wouldn't hurt you."

Skye: "Oh don't listen to Roxie Amber, she's chatting rubbish as always."

Roxie: "Whatever!"

Skye: "I can't believe Nancy wants us to sing for Christmas.."

Roxie: "I'm quite looking forward to it, I love singing."

Amber: "But you can't sing..."

Roxie: "You haven't even heard me."

Amber: "But I like to sing, therefore you can't sing."

Skye: "How about we do something very disturbing for Christmas?"

Amber: "What do you mean?"

Skye: "We could mess up everything? Maybe open up people's presents?"

Roxie: "That's a bit rude..."

Skye: "Or knock down the Christmas tree? Or, make everyone cry?"

Roxie: "Skye! It's Christmas, not Halloween!"

Skye: "Or, how about we totally mess up the Christmas caroling? We could not attend? Or sing the wrong songs? Or sing over everyone else?"

Amber: "I totally agree with your ideas Skye. Way to go. But keep it between us, we don't want Nancy finding out."

Skye: "Sure, and maybe we could wear the most revealing costumes ever?"

Amber: "Totally! I saw this very short elf dress. It comes up to my ass, we have to wear it! Oh, and there's this really low-cut elf top, we have to buy that too! And loads of makeup, with big hair!"

Roxie: "I don't think Nancy would respect us if we dressed like that for Christmas Amber..."

Amber: "Who cares? Christmas is what we make it to be, right?"

Roxie: "Yes, but you're planning to ruin it, and that's just not fair."

Amber: "For goodness sake Roxie, what is your god damn problem! What I say goes, understood?"

Roxie: "Yes Amber..."

Amber: "Right, off to the cloths markets we go!

(Amber, Roxie and Skye leave the stage and the lights go off as the scenery changes.)

*********************************************************

Scene Three, Act One

Mia sitting by the fire, writing to Santa.

Mia: "Dear Santa. For Christmas, I don't usually ask for much. When I was little, my parents didn't bring me up to ask constantly for stuff. I was taught to cherish everything I had, and make the most of it. Mum used to tell me the small gifts can be just as important as the big ones.

I write to you every year Santa, it's the fun of Christmas for me. When I got sent to care, it broke my heart. I thought my world was tumbling down, and I couldn't find that something to push me back up. But then I figured, if I can write letters to you, why can't I write letters to my mum? My dad sadly died in a horrid car crash. When mother got the news, she said she was going on a trip, but she never came back, never ever. I don't know why she didn't come back, and I don't know why she went on a trip, I couldn't figure out anything, I was to young. I miss my mum, and I miss my dad. So, Santa Baby, all I want for Christmas, is the chance to see my mother again... It's my only wish. Your love, Mia Rose."

(The lights go off and Mia leaves stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Three, Act Two

Amber sitting by the fire, writing to Santa.

Amber: "Dear Santa. I have no idea why I'm writing to you, because I don't believe in you, and I don't like you. I find you a massive fake, everything about you is just a whole load of rubbish! BUT, earlier on today, Skye did convince me that there's a chance you might be real. So, I thought, if there's a chance you might be real, I might as well (write) right to you, so I can tell you everything I need for Christmas. Rewind a bit, I didn't say would like, I said, need, so it's a must, you must get me what I ask for. So here I go. I need, a flat screen telly, some more makeup, some more heels and boots, designer cloths and coats, some more accessories, and last but not least, a little puppy! They're ever so cute, don't you think? And besides, some people in care are terrified of puppies, which means I can scare them! Your bossy little boots, Amber Collins."

(The lights go off and Amber leaves stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Three, Act Three

Nancy sitting by the fire, writing to Santa.

Nancy: "Dear Santa. I write to you every year, without fail. The reason I write to you every year, is because I know you're somewhere out there, reading my messages. When I was six years old, my mother and father told me how they received their Christmas wish. Mum had wished for everything to be back to normal within the family. Dad had really bad cancer, and mum believed you were the reason why it cured. Because that was her Christmas wish. Now, I'm wondering about my Christmas wish, and all I can wish for, is.. Is, I wish for, the kids to have an amazing, outstanding, sensational Christmas. Your Nancy."

(Lights dim a little, and Mason comes on stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Three, Act Four

Mason and Nancy sitting by the fire.

Mason: "Are you busy Nancy?"

Nancy: "I'm free now, is everything ok Mason?"

Mason: "No. Not really."

Nancy: "That's not what I like to hear. What's the matter love?"

Mason: "Everything. Absolutely everything."

Nancy: "Well, Roxie, Amber and Skye are out in the markets, and Mia's busy in her room. So why don't you tell me now, while everyone's busy?"

Mason: "It's everything Nancy. I've been in care for ages now. Ever since I was twelve.."

Nancy: "Oh sweetie, is care really that bad? I do try my best to make it something fun."

Mason: "You're doing a great job Nancy, it's just, I'm missing my parents ever so much. I can't stop thinking about mum..."

Nancy: "What about her?"

Mason: "How come she sent me to care? I was living with my aunt at the time, and I got the call that my father crashed and died. My aunt looked after me for some years, but then mum never came back, and I got sent to care..."

Nancy: "I'm sure there is some explanation behind it all Mason."

Mason: "But, how will I find out if I don't even know where my mum is?"

Nancy: "Mason, try not to worry love..."

Mason: "But I am worrying! How do I even know if my mum's alive..."

Nancy: "Your mum is very much alive Mason."

Mason: "How do you know that Nancy?"

Nancy: "Look darling, the best thing to do is concentrate on Christmas. It's the time for happiness, why don't you think of all the good times your family had?"

Mason: "I just want my mum..."

Nancy: "I understand that darling, why don't you come and cook some dinner with me? We could make fairy cakes?"

Mason: "Mia loves making fairy cakes, could she come and help?"

Nancy: "Sure!"

(The lights go off and they leave stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Four, Act One

Roxie, Amber and Skye, in the market cafe.

Roxie: "I can't believe we're actually doing this!"

Skye: "Oh come on, it's only a bit of fun."

Roxie: "Yes, but it's snowing already. Are we really going to go out in the cold wearing hardly anything."

Skye: "That's' the whole fun of it."

Amber: "Besides, it gives me the chance to show Mason what a lovely body I have."

Roxie: "Mason?"

Amber: "Yes. He's totally hot. Do you agree?"

Roxie: "But you spend most of your time arguing with him and being mean?"

Amber: "How else is he going to get my attention."

Skye: "Well, do you think he likes you?"

Amber: "Yes. Who wouldn't like me? Look at my beautiful hair, and these big blue eyes, and just stare at my body, I have the whole package."

Roxie: "I'm guessing personality doesn't come with this package?"

Amber: "Excuse me Roxie, but that's a bit rude."

Roxie: "I was joking. Sorry."

Skye: "Well, you can clean up this mess, and catch up with us when you're done. Come on Amber!"

(Skye and Amber leave stage, Roxie sits there and the lights go off.)

*********************************************************

Scene Five, Act One

Mia, Nancy and Mason in the kitchen.

Nancy: "You're so good at baking cakes, you two! You both do it exactly the same, I can't wait to share them out."

Mia: "Thank you, and thanks for calling me down Mason."

Mason: "No worries Mia, hey, could we have the first bite Nancy?"

Nancy: "I think we should all have the first three cakes when they're ready, as our treat, what do you say?"

Mia: "I say yes!"

Nancy: "So, are you all looking forward to Christmas?"

Mia: "Yes. And I can't wait to do the carols, are we all going to get the song sheets?"

Nancy: "Yes love, I need you all to be as loud and amazing as possible, I might record it."

Mason: "We're going to be on TV?"

Nancy: 'Well, a producer came over the other day, he said that they need some foster homes to be on telly for Christmas, I said we could do some caroling, and he said sure."

Mia: "Awesome! We're going to be on television!"

(Nancy goes to the oven and takes out the cakes)

Mason: "Oh these cakes are delicious!"

Mia: "These are just yummy!"

Nancy: "Way to go guys, I'm thinking we should make more for Christmas day, we could offer them to people who open doors for our singing?"

Mia: "Great idea Nancy!"

(Amber, Skye and Roxie come on stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Five, Act Two

Everyone in the kitchen.

Skye: "Oo, I smell cakes!"

Roxie: "Wow, these look delicious."

Mason: "Thanks, me, Nancy and Mia made them."

Roxie: "May I have one?"

Mia: "Sure Roxie."

Nancy: "Very polite of you Roxie, well done."

Amber: "Why are you being so well-mannered? Just take one like me and Skye did."

Nancy: "I prefer the way Roxie did thank you. Did you all have fun in the markets?"

Skye: "Oh we had a smashing time, didn't we girls?"

Mason: "What did you get?"

Amber: "We brought beautiful hot Christmas outfits. Very short and reveling.."

Nancy: "Short and reveling? Can we remember that it's Christmas, not a club night."

Amber: "Yes, but we're rocking Christmas our way Nancy."

Nancy: "Well, if your outfits are to short you won't be coming out singing with us, do you understand?"

Amber: "But that is so unfair. Just because you can't wear them!"

Nancy: "I wouldn't want to thanks."

Amber: "But, Mason really wants me to wear my short elf costume, he wants to see my legs and..."

Mason: "No, I do not!"

Nancy: "I don't think anyone does. Now upstairs, it's bed time!"

(The lights go off and they all silently leave stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Six, Act One

Narrator on stage with spotlight. Skye in the background.

Narrator: "One full week has passed, and now Christmas eve has finally arrived. People are in bed sleeping, excited for tomorrow morning, Christmas. But some people are still up, writing their letters to Santa. Will any of these wishes come true?"

*********************************************************

Scene Six, Act Two

Skye sitting by the fire, writing a letter to Santa.

Skye: "Dear Santa. I never fail to write a letter to you. I write one every year, explaining what I want, and about my dream. My dream is still the same, I want to become a professional dancer, I'm ever so good, aren't I Santa? Anyway, I'm writing to you because I have a very important Christmas wish. Christmas is tomorrow and I'm ever so excited. The Christmas tree looks amazing, with presents sitting nicely underneath. I really do hope I get something nice. But this Christmas, all I ask for, is, is a chance to realize what Christmas is really about... Thank you, Skye.

(Lights go down, and spotlight goes back to narrator, as Skye leaves stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Six, Act Three

Narrator, on spotlight.

Narrator: "So Skye, Nancy, Mia and Amber have written their Christmas letter to Santa so far. With Skye asking to see the real meaning of Christmas. With Nancy asking for the kids to have an unforgettable Christmas, With Amber asking for everything in the world, and with Mia asking to see her mother for Christmas... I wonder what Mason, and Roxie will ask for this Christmas.

(Roxie comes on stage and the spotlight goes to her, from narrator.)

*********************************************************

Scene Six, Act Four

Roxie sitting by the fire, writing to Santa.

Roxie: "Dear Santa. Where do I begin? Ever since I've moved into the care home, I've been a very bad girl. I've done things I never wanted to do, I've done things to hurt people and I'm not proud of it one bit. I got into the wrong crowd, and I really wish I would choose more wisely in future. I don't enjoy being classed as the "bad group" in the care home, because when I was little, I was good as gold. But coming into the care home and meeting Skye and Amber, has made me change. The way the girls treat me is unfair, and I don't want to be a follower anymore - I want to make my own choices in life, and be able to be independent. So Santa please, all I ask for Christmas is, is, to be the girl I really am. Your best wishes, Roxie.

(Roxie leaves stage as spotlight dims down, Mason is now sitting in the space, writing to Santa.)

*********************************************************

Scene Six, Act Five

Mason sitting by the fire, writing to Santa.

Mason: "Dear Santa. Over the past years I've been constantly wondering why my mum didn't come back for me. I've been wondering why she never showed her face, once my father died. I've been worried and worried about everything in life, worrying about my own mother, not quite understanding anything. This year I've tried my best to get on with this, I've tried my best to enjoy my time at the care home. I've made a good friend, Mia, who seems to understand everything I say. We're both going through the same thing, so it makes me feel like I have a shoulder to lean on sometimes. But Santa, all I'm asking for this Christmas, is that one Christmas wish. This Christmas, I'm asking for the opportunity to see my mother again. To be able to speak to her, even if it's for one day. Thank you, and I'm grateful for everything. Mason Rose."

(The lights dim down and Mason leaves stage, and the narrator is on the spotlight.)

*********************************************************

Scene Six, Act Six

Narrator on Spotlight.

Narrator: "So everybody in the care home has made their Christmas wish. But does everything come true? The snow is falling and the birds are singing. The Christmas carols are being sung all around, and the Christmas lights are shining. The presents are happily waiting under the tree, and the decorations bring a lovely touch to the care home. Children are singing and the snow is glistening. It's a white Christmas for all."

(Narrator goes of stage and the spotlight is on the care home. It's snowing and a beautiful day, and the children are all sitting around the tree with Nancy.)

*********************************************************

Scene Seven, Act One

Nancy and the kids by the tree.

Nancy: "Merry Christmas to you all, and I really do hope you all have an amazing day. Right, before we start, why don't we all sing a happy birthday to Mason!

Mia: "Happy birthday to you (8"

Roxie: "Happy birthday to you (8"

Amber: "Happy birthday to Mason (8"

Skye: "Happy birthday to you! (8"

Nancy: "Hip, Hip, Hurray! Hip, Hip, Hurray!"

Mason: "Thanks everyone! Really appreciate it, and merry Christmas to you all."

Mia: "I would like to give you a little something Mason, I made it for you, I hope you like it. Happy birthday."

Mason: "Thanks Mia."

(He opens a box which Mia hands to him, out comes a photo frame of pictures of the both of them)

Roxie: "Wow! That's pretty amazing Mia.."

Mason: "Wow! It really is! Thanks so much Mia, I really love it!"

Mia: "You're welcome, the pictures are amazing."

Amber: "Alright, back to me now! Can I open my presents? What did mother and father send me?"

Nancy: "I actually can't see anything under the tree from your parents Amber."

Amber: "What? You're chatting rubbish, look again."

Skye: "But your parents always send you something Amber?"

Nancy: "Not this year, or maybe they couldn't send it in time. Never mind though."

Amber: "Of course it matters, I asked for a lot this Christmas and I was expecting to get it!"

Nancy: "Maybe that's just it Amber? Maybe your parents couldn't fund all the gifts, that's why they didn't send it?"

Amber: "But mother and father are rich.."

Mia: "And maybe you made them broke?"

Nancy: "Right, this is a little something from me guys. I hope you all like it, go on open it."

(Everyone opens a small present from Nancy, it's a Christmas drawing pad.)

Mason: "A Christmas drawing pad, wow, thanks Nancy!"

Mia: "Looks like I can start creating more drawing ideas. Thanks Nancy."

Roxie: "This is just what I needed this Christmas, thank you so, so much Nancy!"

Skye: "I suppose it's ok. Thank Nancy..."

Amber: "It's awful. I hate coloring, and I hate drawing. Why would you get me this!"

Nancy: "Amber, it's about the thought! Haven't you understood that yet?"

Amber: "This Christmas is going to be the worse, I can just feel it!"

Roxie: "You know Amber, you really need to stop being so ungrateful."

Amber: "Who asked you to talk idiot!?"

Roxie: "I'd appreciate it if you didn't speak to me like that."

Amber: "And who are you, the queen?"

Roxie: "Look, when I first started the care home I thought you and Skye were my friends. But you've both done nothing but treat me like rubbish. You have no idea how much it hurts me when you told me you purposely told me to dump my boyfriend, just so you could have him!"

Amber: "Oh get over that, he didn't love you anyway. Besides, he was way too hot for you!"

Roxie: "You just don't get it, do you. You're a horrid person Amber, you expect people to run after you, like you're some princess, but you might be beautiful within your looks, but you're ugly inside!"

Amber: "How dare you say that to me! Do you know whom you're talking to!"

Roxie: "I'm sorry Amber, but I'm not running around after you anymore. I have my own life to live. If that means I have to hang around alone, and speak to the trees then so be it. But I'm not your puppy dog anymore!"

(Amber sits there speechless and puts her head down, Skye stares at her in shock, but the others stare at her with pride.)

*********************************************************

Scene Eight, Act One

Mia in her bedroom, Roxie comes to join her.

Roxie: "Hi Mia? Do you mind if I come in?"

Mia: "Be my guest Roxie. By the way, it was a very brave thing you did there."

Roxie: "Standing up for Amber is something I've always wanted to do."

Mia: "Well, I'm glad you realized how badly she actually treated you."

Roxie: "Better late then never, hey?"

Mia: "Exactly. So, are you enjoying your Christmas?"

Roxie: "Very much now! I made a Christmas wish, and it finally came true for once."

Mia: "Really? What was that? The drawing pad thing?"

Roxie: "No, I don't wish for presents, that's a bit selfish, don't you think?"

Mia: "Agreed."

Roxie: "What I wished for, was to start living the life I wanted to live. And be myself, and stand up to Amber."

Mia: "And you did that, well done Roxie!"

Roxie: "Thanks Mia, so has your Christmas wish come true yet?"

Mia: "Not yet. But I really hope it does."

Roxie: "Was it to become Mason's girlfriend?"

Mia: "What? No?"

Roxie: "Oh, it's just when I was with Amber, we all thought you liked each other. You're ever so close."

Mia: "We're really close, he's like a brother to me. It feels like we have this huge connection. He's always there when I need a shoulder, and he understands everything I go through..."

Roxie: "You both got left behind by your mother's', didn't you?"

Mia: "Sadly, but there's an explanation for it I hope, I just hope."

Roxie: "It's weird, how the same thing happened to you both."

Mia: "That's what makes us so close. It's like we're connected in some way."

Roxie: 'Well, whatever your Christmas wish was, I hope it comes true. Just like mine did."

Mia: "Thank you Roxie."

(Roxie smiles and she leaves the stage.)
(Mason comes on stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Eight, Act Two

Mason and Mia in the bedroom

Mason: "Mind If I come in Mia?"

Mia: "Be my guest birthday boy!"

Mason: "Cheers, thanks for the birthday presents earlier, they were lovely."

Mia: "I'm glad you liked them. Thanks for my Christmas presents too, you really didn't have to go out your way to find me a bracelet with my name on it."

Mason: "Of course I did, you're going to cherish that forever, just like I'm going to cherish these photos."

Mia: "Thank you Mason, so you're having a good birthday and Christmas then?"

Mason: "It's amazing, but I can't stop thinking about my Christmas wish..."

Mia: "Neither can I."

Mason: "What was yours?"

Mia: "I'd rather not say, you know how they say if you say your wish, it won't come true?"

Mason: "Oh, that's true. Let's keep it to ourselves then."

Mia: "I hope your dream comes true for you Mason."

Mason: "You to Mia."

They both stand in the center of the stage, the spotlight facing them.
(The narrator comes on stage with his own spotlight.)

*********************************************************

Scene Eight, Act Three

Narrator on stage, Mia and Mason in the background.

Mason: "Mum, is that really you?"

Deb: "Mason? Mia? Oh thank God!"

Mason: "Mum, is it really you!"

Mia: "What... What's going on?"

Deb: "Am I guessing one of you made a Christmas wish?"

Mason: "I think we both did mum."

Deb: "It feels so right seeing you kids again, all these years I've been crying and hating myself for what I did, I regretted every second of it.'

Mia: "Mum? Why are we in care? Tell me the truth, nothing but the truth, please!?"

Deb: "Oh it's so emotional dear, come on, it's Christmas day..."

Mia: "I came here because I wanted the truth mum."

Mason: "It's been on my mind ever since..."

Deb: "Your father got into a terrible car accident, and sadly died. Mason you were only six, and Mia you were only four! Together, we were struggling a lot."

Mason: "With money problems?"

Deb: "Yes. I couldn't pay half of the bills as it was, and when your father died I had no support, no support whatsoever."

Mia: "So, you just sent us to care!"

Deb: "Listen love! I then realized if I carried on looking after you, you both would have horrid, trampy lives. I couldn't feed you, I didn't have anymore nappies and everything was getting so tight..."

Mia: "So the best thing for you to do was to send us to care?"

Deb: "Sadly yes, I tried asking for a nanny and other people to help me out, but nobody was interested. I wanted to come marching down that care home, but I was scared you'd both hate me ever so much and throw me out..."

Mason: "We wouldn't have done that to you mum..."

Mia: "We would have been over the moon to see you again mum."

Deb: "I'm glad dear, but my mind wasn't straight."

Mason: 'Are you happy to see us mum?"

Deb: "Of course I am. I know you're both disappointed in me sending you to care, but I just hope one day you will see why I had to do it. If you could see ten years ago, you'd understand that me looking after you would off been dreadful."

Mason: "It's alright mum, it really is. I'm just happy to see you."

Mia: "Me to mum, I've missed you ever so much!"

Mason: "What have you been doing, all these years?"

Deb: "Living alone son. I've been working though, looking after children. I decided to take the job, as it seemed like I was just looking after you two. I have enough money now, to look after you..."

Mia: "Then, why haven't you come back to get us?"

Deb: "I simply thought you wouldn't have been interested..."

Mason: "But we are mum, we really are!"

Deb: "I know that now son. Did you write a Christmas wish letter to Santa Kids?"

Mia: "Yes mum,"

Mason: "And it just came true!"

Deb: "A Christmas wish always comes true..."

*********************************************************

Scene Ten, Act One

Mason and Mia in Bedroom.

Mason: "Mia?"

Mia: "I just had the most strangest dream ever!"

Mason: "So did I..."

Mia: "What was yours about by any chance?"

Mason: "It's too weird, just forget it. Ok?"

Mia: "Come on, you have to tell me. You just have to. Mine was even more odd, trust me."

Mason: "Was I in your dream Mia?"

Mia: "You was..."

Mason: "I see..."

Mia: "Was I in yours?"

Mason: "You was..."

Mia: "I see..."

Mason: "Mia, do you think we just had the same dream?"

Mia: "But we couldn't have had the same dreams, we're not twins!"

Mason: "Mia, I don't think it was a dream..."

Mia: "What do you mean by that? Of course it was."

Mason: "I think it actually just happened..."

Mia: "As in real life?"

Mason: "Yes, and were magically back in the same position."

Mia: "Mason, what was your Christmas wish? Did it, did it just happen?"

Mason: "It sure did Mia..."

Mia: "But, so did mine..."

Mason: "Mia, I think we just saw our mum..."

Mia: "But that means, that means, you're my brother?"

Mason: "And you're my sister..."

Mia: "Oh Mason!"

(Freeze as the narrator comes on stage with a spotlight.)

Scene Ten, Act Two

Narrator.

Narrator: "Mason and Mia hugged for ages, clinging onto each other like the world was about to end. They had just discovered that they were brother and sisters, all this time of being such great friends. Do Mason and Mia expect the fact that they really are brothers and sisters? Or do they doubt it? Do they tell everyone? Or do they keep it to themselves? What a Christmas and birthday Mason and Mia are having... "

*********************************************************

Scene Eleven, Act One

Nancy, Amber, Skye and Roxie outside in the front, carol singing.
It's a singing scene for the kids.

Nancy: "Right, I need to hear best voices now everyone. Let's start of with each person doing a separate line. Amber, how about you going first?"

Amber: "Christmas time is here, happiness and cheers, time for all the children call their favorite time of year. (8"

Nancy: "Beautiful Amber, Roxie, you do the next line, and follow on guys."

Roxie: 'Snowflakes in the air, carols everywhere, olden times and ancient rhymes, and love and dreams to share. (8"

Skye: "Sleigh bells in the air, beauty everywhere, yuletide by the fireside, and joyful memories there. (8"

Amber: "Christmas time is here, we'll be drawing near, oh that we could always see, such spirit through the year, such spirit through the year. (8"

Nancy: "That was beautiful everyone, I'm ever so proud of you. I can see you've all been working hard to learn these songs. Look, people are starting to notice us. From the top everyone.

*********************************************************

Scene Eleven, Act Two

Mia and Mason come rushing on the stage.

Mason: "Sorry, we're late for carol singing..."

Nancy: "And where have you two been? You've missed two whole songs."

Amber: "I bet Mia was giving Mason a little birthday treat, I always knew she had the lots for him."

Mia: "I really don't..."

Amber: "Good, because he's mine, so you better back off."

Nancy: "That's enough girls. Where have you been!?"

Mia: "The most strangest but wonderful thing just happened to us..."

Roxie: "What do you mean?"

Skye: "Put a sock in it, we're trying to sing here!"

Nancy: "Let them talk, we're listening. What happened?"

Mason: "Mine and Mia's Christmas wish actually came true..."

Amber: "Oh that's ridiculous! Wishes don't come true."

Roxie: "They actually do, mine did."

Skye: "What do you mean? What did you wish for?"

Roxie: "I wished for independence, and to be the girl I really am."

Skye: "And how do you know if that's worked?"

Roxie: "If you haven't already noticed, I haven't been up Amber's arse anymore. This Christmas is a new start for me, just you watch."

Nancy: "And what did you wish for Mason? Mia?"

Mia: "We wished to... we wished to see our mother again."

Nancy: "And you're saying that came true?"

Mia: "Yes, true indeed."

Skye: "Nonsense!

Amber: "You chat the most rubbish Mia, can we get back on with singing now?"

Mason: "I was in Mia's room, just having a normal conversation. And all of a sudden everything froze, and we awoke in a different world..."

Mia: "We were standing in our mother's house, she was there right in front of our eyes, sitting on the sofa..."

Mason: "She had a big smile on her face, she looked so well. She explained why she had to put us in care..."

Mia: "She was so happy to see us, and so were we! But then our wish time ran up, and we landed right back here..."

Amber: "For goodness sake, this isn't a fairy tale. Snap out of it sick people!"

Skye: "But, wishes don't come true. Stop lying!"

Nancy: "Alright, alright, that's' enough! Mia and Mason, I don't think this is the best time to speak about your dream..."

Mia: "But it really happened, honestly it did..."

Nancy: "That's enough please Mia."

Mason: "But Nancy it did, don't you believe us?"

Nancy: "I do, I very much believe you both."

Skye: "Pathetic!"

Amber: "You're supposed to be sixteen and eighteen, not six and eight! Making wishes and pretending they really happened."

Roxie: "I actually believe them..."

Amber: "Well that's because you live a very sad life Roxie."

Roxie: "My life may be pathetic and sad in your eyes, but it's actually just getting better."

Nancy: "Girls please, Mason, Mia, turn to page three. Let's have a go at singing Jingle Bell Rock. Roxie, you start us off."

Roxie: "Jingle bell, Jingle bell, Jingle bell rock, Jingle bells swing, and Jingle bells rock...(8"

Amber: "Snowing and blowing up bushels fun, now the Jingle hop has begun. (8"

Mason: "Jingle bell, Jingle bell, Jingle bell rock, Jingle bells chime in Jingle bell time. (8"

Nancy: "Dancing and prancing in Jingle bell square, in the frosty air. (8"

Skye: "What a bright time, it's the right time, to rock the night away! (8"

Mia: "Jingle bell time is a swell time, to go gliding in a one horse sleigh! (8"

Roxie: "Giddy up jingle horse, pick up your feet, Jingle around the clock, (8"

Amber: "Mix and Mingle in the jingling feet. (8"

Mason: "That's the jingle bell (8"

Nancy: "That's the jingle bell (8"

Skye: "That's the jingle bell rock! (8"

(As they end their last singing line, the lights go off and the narrator appears on stage, the other kids off, expect Mia and Mason.)

Scene Twelve, Act One

Narrator Spotlight. Mia and Mason sitting down in the background.

Narrator: "So the kids have cheered themselves up by singing warm, joyful Christmas songs, full of happiness and joy. The beautiful snow is still falling, and the frosty snowmen stand outside. Some of the kids are in the back, playing with the snow, some are carrying on with their singing, and others, like Mia and Mason, have decided to have a lovely, brother and sister chat."

*********************************************************

Scene Twelve, Act Two

Mason and Mia sitting outside.

Mason: "I just can't believe our Christmas wish actually came true."

Mia: "Neither did I. I don't understand why it came true though. I've made Christmas wishes before, and they never came true..."

Mason: "Maybe it's because we both wished for the same thing?"

Mia: "But Roxie's came true too..."

Mason: "Well, who cares how and why it came true? It happened! We finally got to see our mother..."

Mia: "She looked so pretty, didn't she. So bright-eyed and beautiful."

Mason: "She's missing us though, I can tell..."

Mia: "And we're missing her, but why didn't she come back for us? She's got money now, she has a job..."

Mason: "I guess things aren't that easy anymore sister..."

Mia: "Sister? Wow, I just can't believe you're my brother Mason."

Mason: "All the years of us being close friends, who would have thought!"

Mia: "I'm glad to have you as a brother though Mason, more years of being close with you."

Mason: "And I'm glad to have you as a sister too Mia. Bring on the upcoming years."

(Roxie comes on stage and stands in view of Mason and Mia.)

*********************************************************

Scene Twelve, Act Three

Mia, Mason & Roxie sitting outside.

Roxie: "Sorry if I'm interrupting?"

Mia: "No, don't worry Roxie."

Mason: "Is everything alright. Happy your Christmas wish came true?"

Roxie: "Yes! But importantly, are you happy yours came true! I just can't believe it, you actually saw your mother!"

Mia: "As clear as blue sky."

Roxie: "I'm so happy for you, I really am. What a wish to come true, hey?"

Mason: "We never thought or expected it to come true, we didn't even know we wished for the same thing..."

Roxie: "I'm sorry if this is personal, but didn't you know you were brothers and sisters all this time? I mean, you both have the same last name... Rose!"

Mia: "Rose is quite a popular last name, in my life I've known about two lads and three girls with the same last name, it never occurred to me that we were related..."

Roxie: "Well, how amazing is that! So, what's the next step? What did your mother say?"

Mason: "We didn't really speak much about our next step, that was properly that time we would see our mother."

Roxie: "Sorry to hear. Well, at least you know she's okay?"

Mia: "I guess, it was nice seeing her this Christmas, but I just wish it was forever?"

Roxie: "Hey, don't go wishing on to many stars now! You never know what will happen!"

(Skye comes on stage and joins the others.)

*********************************************************

Scene Twelve, Act Four

Mason, Mia, Skye & Roxie.

Skye: "What are you guys talking about? Let me guess, Mia's and Mason's strange wish coming true?"

Mia: "So you do believe it came true?"

Skye: "I don't know..."

Roxie: "Well you should, because it did."

Skye: "And how would you know Roxie? You weren't exactly in the wish."

Roxie: "But I made my own, and it came true. If Mia and Mason said their dream came true, it means it came true. They're not ones to lie or makeup stuff, are they?"

Skye: "That's very true. Mia and Mason are pretty shy and stuff, like they don't often talk, so I don't see why they would suddenly pretend they saw their mother."

Roxie: "Exactly."

Skye: "So, what was it like? You know, seeing your mother."

Mia: "Emotional."

Mason: "But breathtaking."

Skye: "I'm happy for you. I really am. And sorry for not believing you earlier."

Mia: "It's alright, it's Christmas, I don't think we have time to hold grudges."

Skye: "Yea, I mean Christmas isn't about holding grudges on people, or begging and expecting the best presents, or making yourself stand out, so Christmas is all about you, Christmas is about enjoying everyone's company..."

Roxie: "Exactly!"

Mia: "It looks like someone's suddenly changed?"

Skye: "What?"

Mason: "You just admitted the real meaning of Christmas, you told us all that Christmas isn't about..."

Skye: "Wow, I really did! I can't believe it!"

Roxie: "Way to go Skye, try to keep that meaning in your head for a long time. It's not good to forget the true meaning of it."

Skye: "I think I'll keep that meaning in my mind for a very long time. And guess what guys, that was my, that was my Christmas wish!"

Mia: "Wow! Everyone's wish seems to be coming true this Christmas!"

(Amber comes on stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Twelve, Act Five

Mason, Mia, Roxie, Amber, and Skye.

Amber: "Oh my God! Can you believe it? I've got nothing this Christmas! Absolutely nothing!"

Mason: "But Nancy gave you drawing pad this Christmas. That's something."

Amber: "Do you think I class that cheap something as a present! For goodness sake, I asked for expensive makeup, and branded cloths, and framed pictures of myself, and a flat screen telly!"

Mia: "You ask for too much Amber, you should just be happy with what you have and what you get."

Roxie: "Mia's right, Christmas isn't about the gifts remember?"

Amber: "Rubbish! Don't you tell me what Christmas is about. How dare you not get me anything for Christmas anyway, I wanted expensive stuff from you all, you all knew that!"

Mason: "And where was you expecting us to get the money from?"

Mia: "Why would we get you anything anyway? You're mean, and selfish."

Roxie: "You care about nobody but yourself."

Amber: "Rubbish! You cheap idiots!'

Skye: "Amber, they're actually right. You need to start thinking about the true meaning of Christmas..."

Amber: "Oh just you shut up Skye, don't you start on me, do you hear!"

(Nancy comes on stage.)

*********************************************************

Scene Twelve, Act Six

Nancy, Mia, Mason, Roxie, Skye and Amber.

Nancy: "And am I hearing the Christmas spirit getting a bit out of control?"

Mia: "We were just telling Amber the real meaning of Christmas..."

Mason: 'Well, trying to..."

Nancy: "Let's forget it guys. I'm sure Amber will soon realize the true meaning of Christmas. Maybe we should all sit around the tree and discuss it?"

Amber: "Err, no thank you!"

Nancy: "Fine, we will do it out here. Gather around everyone. Who would like to start us off with the Christmas meanings?' Why do we have a Christmas tree at Christmas time.'

Roxie: "Because it was a symbol of man's thoughts turning towards heaven."

Nancy: "Well done Roxie, and why do we put a star at the top of the tree?"

Mason: "God promised Savior for the world, and the star was a symbol of promise long ago."

Nancy: "Amazing Mason, and what about the candle?"

Skye: "It symbolizes that Christ is the light of the world, and when we see the light we are reminded of he who displaces the darkness."

Nancy: "Well done Skye, and what about the angels and the bells?"

Mia: "It was the angels who sang glory to God on earth peace and good will towards men."

Roxie: "And the lost sheep's were found by the sound of the bells..."

Nancy: "And what about Gifts? Amber...?"

Amber: "God loved the world so much, that he gave his begotten son..."

Nancy: "You see Amber, you knew the true meaning all along!"

Amber: "I guess I did, I guess I just ignored it all. Thank you Nancy, thank you guys."

(The lights go off and the kids freeze, narrator comes on stage.)

Deb: "Oh excuse me, Nancy right?"

Nancy: "That's right."

Deb: "Oh it has been years since I've seen you, and this care home. Oh how it brings back so many memories..."

Mia: "Mum, what are you doing here...?"

Deb: "I've, I've actually come to take my kids home..."

Mason: "What!?"

Mia: "Mum are you being serious."

Deb: "If you would let me have the honor of having my kids back Nancy?"

Nancy: "I'm completely fine with that, I'm sure your kids are too, but there is so many things to do first, like paper filling..."

Deb: "I'll do anything. I can't have another year without living with my kids. Seeing my little kids today made me realize so much."

Amber: "So their wish really did come true..."

Skye: "Wow!"

Deb "Please kids, would you come home with your mother? It's all I ask."

Mia: "Yes!"

Mason: "Of course mum, we've missed you so much."

Deb: "Merry Christmas Mia, Merry Christmas Mason, and a happy birthday to you..."

Mason: "Thanks mum."

Deb: "My son's all growing up, I just can't believe it."

Nancy: "We're just about to do some Christmas carols. Would you like to stay and join in, before you take the kids home?"
