The Chosen: Chapter Two (Part Three)
An explosion and a bone dragon....will Izzy be able to survive?
Dairen watched as Izzy walked to her car. He sighed and then his eyes shot to a tree that was near Izzy’s car because he saw movement. There in the shadows of the tree was a person. "No, not a person but a monster," Dairen thought to him self as he started to walk out of the building towards Izzy. Then he saw what the monster was and what it was holding. The monster was like a ball of gray fluff. You could see feet and hands, but they were covered in scruffy hair. In the hands of this monster was a button to a bomb. Dairen looked at Isabella then at the monster, and his eyes widened as he guessed what the monster was about to do. Dairen quickened his strides and soon he was in a full run. He tackled Isabella just as she was about to open the door to her car and, with her underneath him, they fell hard on to the hot asphalt.
There was a huge explosion and Dairen covered Izzy as much as he could. Soon the car next to Izzy’s caught fire and blew up, and then the rest of the cars rapidly started to catch fire and explode. Dairen’s back felt like it was on fire, and Dairen thought that he wouldn’t be surprised if it really was on fire. Finally the cars stopped going off, but they were still on fire so it wasn’t safe enough to move yet. Dairen could hear sirens in the distance, but soon the firefighters were there getting the fire to calm down. Dairen then noticed that Isabella hadn’t done one thing since he had tackled her.
Now that the fire had gone down Dairen could get off of Isabella. He slowly raised him self and looked at her. Her skin was whiter then usual and she was breathing faster then normal. She got up and looked at Darien, and that’s when they came. All of the kids that were still at the school came rushing towards Isabella. They totally ignored Dairen like he wasn’t there, and yet he was the one in pain because of his back got burnt. The ambulance came and helped Dairen up and then took him to the back of the ambulance so he could get in. He saw Izzy trying to get to him right before the doors closed and the car, ambulance, started rushing him to the hospital.

While I walked to my car I looked around and there by a tree was a person. I wasn’t surprised or anything, because teens frequently stood there to wait for there ride home. So I didn’t give the person a second glance. I was opening my door when something hit me and hit me hard the thing tackled me to the hot blacktop. I was just about to bite the person or yell at him/her when there was a huge explosion which was soon followed by more explosions. I stayed as still as I could as the explosions went off. The explosions stopped but the person still didn’t get up, and I guessed it was because the thing that exploded was still on fire. Then there were sirens and then the person finally did get off of me. I first took in the scenery around me and my breath quickened.
The things that exploded were the cars, and then I looked at the person that just saved my live. It was Dairen and I could tell he was in pain because he was wincing with the slightest moves. Before I could say any thing though all the people that were still at school came rushing over yelling at me, and asking me if I were ok. I noticed that they were completely ignoring Dairen and when I looked for him I noticed that he was now in an ambulance. I tried to get to him before the ambulance took off but every one kept getting in my way so I was unable to talk to him. I stood there not noticing that every one, even the popular girls and boys, was talking to me. I wasn’t awer that I was now popular, and I didn’t notice any of this because I was deep in my thoughts. I was thinking about Dairen and what he did for me, and before I knew it I was trying to get out of the crowd and on to the street.
I was almost there when Teresa walked up to me and….and hugged me. I blinked and when she let me go I looked at her with concern. "Teresa are you ok?" It was Teresa’s turn to look puzzled this time and then she asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Why were you hugging me?"
"Well….well because I thought you were going to die and I was so happy to see that you didn’t," she said nearly crying then she threw her arms around me again and hugged me again. Sadly I believed her. I believed that she was telling the truth, and that she really did worry about me, but I couldn’t talk to her and asked her the questions that were on my mind right now, because I still needed to get to the hospital. So I told every one that I would be at school to morrow and that they can talk to me then, and with that I started to run as fast as I could in the direction of the hospital.
The hospital was only a mile or so away from the school so I ran most of the way, and because of that I was out of breath when I got there. When I got my breath back I walk up to the desk and asked the lady if I could see Dairen but, to my astonishment, she said that there was no Dairen checked in at this hospital and then she turned back to her work. I stood there open mouthed then asked the lady if she would check again. When she did her answer was the same.
I then explained why he should be here, but she said, "Well I’m sorry to disappoint you, but there hasn’t been a Dairen in this hospital to day miss. Now I’m going to have to ask you to leave or I will have you escorted out of here," and when I didn’t move she called security and I was propelled to the door and pushed out of the hospital. I then walked home filling numb all over and thinking of Dairen. When I got home I was so tired that all I did was go up to my room and crash.
I was running as fast as my lags could carry me. I turned the corner and he was there too. I looked behind me and there stood Dairen, but then again it wasn’t. The Dairen in front of me, I turn fully around, was not too muscular to the point were it was seen easily. He also had black eyes, and he had his shirt off so I could see that he had a tattoo of a bone dragon wrapped around his perfect body. He also looked older but not by much, and the only way I was able to guess it was Dairen was because he had the full lips and the almost feminine face that I remembered. He smiled at me and then held out his hand for me to take. I hesitated, but then his smile faded. I looked behind me and nearly jumped in to Dairen’s arms. I did this because the man that was always chasing me was inches from grabbing me.
I could never see him because he was in a cloak, but the cloak wasn’t normal. It was more like a shadow that covered him, and the shadow was always moving. The man held out his hands, but Dairen held me closer and whispered in my ear, "Izzy run, run and don’t look back. I’ll hold him back," and then he pushed me behind him, not unkindly, and I ran. I ran as fast as I could, but then a voice crept in to my mind and it said.
"Isabella, what are you doing? Running away from that man and leaving Dairen to fend for him self. Why do you do this? Is it because you are afraid? You will never concur you fears by always running away from them," the voice slowly faded and I was left alone again. I thought about what this voice said, and I finally came to a conclusion. I turn around and, as fast as I could, went back the way I came. I ran and ran, and then I turned a corner and there they were face to face. There was also a monster standing beside Dairen. I noticed that Dairen’s tattoo was gone, and the monster beside him looked exactly like the one that was wrapped around him before I left.
The man that was always chasing me looked at me, smiled and vanished. The dragon looked back at me and then turned around. It came trotting up to me, and I know that I should have been petrified with fear but I wasn’t. The dragon lowered its head, and I tentatively put my hand on its snout. The bones were not rough like I thought they would be, but they were like a smooth table top. The dragon laid down curling around me as it did. That’s when I saw Dairen, again. He didn’t look mad but he looked astonished. He quickly covered that reaction with a brilliant smile that made my heart skip a beat. I cursed my self, because I barely knew him and I was already falling for him.
Then all of a sudden then panorama changed. Now I was in my back yard, but the dragon was still wrapped around me and Dairen was still walking toward me. When he got to me he held out his hand like before, but this time I didn’t hesitate to take it. Just as I clasped his hand in my hand every thing went black.

She reached out to Dairen and he caught her as she fell. "She didn’t need to remember this," Dairen thought to him self as he picked her up in his arms and then disappeared, than materialized in her room. He put Izzy on her bed and then placed his hand just above her head. "Now if she remembered this then she would think it’s was all a dream." Dairen thought with satisfaction. He then leaned down and kissed her gently on her sweet red lips. With that he vanished in to the gray morning sky with his dragon not to far behind him.
