The Change (Ch. Two)

Chapter 2
Sebastian's POV

My luck must finally changing, meet two ladies; one is half demon, and has a group to stay with. I glanced over towards Alex's way and I sighed. There's something about her makes me want to protect her, that I want to hug her and say 'you'll be ok'...wow what's wrong with me, I need to quit thinking, grr.
Alex shifted in her sleeping bag and I just watched her. She's so innocent when she sleeps, but she's a bad ass fighter, and she's beautiful in her demon form, let alone her human form too. Ugh, I'm thinking about her again. I shook my head and rubbed my face with my huge hands.

"Mom," Alex muttered. "Just leave me alone, you hurt me. No," I moved my hands to see who Alex was talking to, but there was nobody, and there is Alex, asleep.
"Uh, she's a sleep talker? That's not good," I muttered.
"Sorry mom, I have to go," then she shifted again and then let out a light snore.
I chuckled; she's getting cuter every time I look at her. I let a huge sigh out, knowing I can't stop thinking about her, but she wouldn't be thinking about me, I'm a nobody. Then I climbed up the tree, found a sturdy limb, and lay against it. I closed my eyes, hoping for some sleep, dawn is about two hours away, so I short cat nap.

Alex's POV

I woke up to birds cawing, so I stretched in my sleeping bag, and then crawled out. Violet is still asleep, and Sebastian is sleeping in a tree. He is one odd guy, why sleep in a tree for crying out loud? It would feel uncomfortable, and all the kinks I would have in my back when I woke up, ugh. I looked in the backpack for any food, but nothing. I closed my eyes and debated on leaving to get food or wait for the others to wait.
"If you think too hard, you'll hurt yourself," Sebastian chuckled.
"Ha ha ha, very funny. I was just thinking if I wanted to go get food because we have no food left," I said. "We need food, so we can concentrate and focus in case of enemies come after us," I pointed my finger at him and poked him in the chest. Wow it's hard and flat.

"I'll go get the food if you want me to?" he volunteered himself.
"But I usually like going because of me and Violet been alone for years, and Violet is allergic to certain things."
"Oh, I see. So why don't you tell her that we'll go to town so keep her guard up?" he smoothly said.
"Uh ok," I frowned. I walked over to Violet, knelt down, and tapped her shoulder while I glared Sebastian down.
"Mmm, is it morning already?" Violet whispered.
"Yeah, but sleep in honey. Last night was horrible, so you deserve to sleep more, but me and Sebastian is going to town to get food for us. So keep your guard up, and you know how to contact me," I rubbed her back.

"Alright, you two be safe," Violet yawned and fell asleep again.
I got up; head over to my backpack again, picked it up, threw it over my shoulder, and started to head out with Sebastian.
The woods are very quiet, which made me happy because that means no one is around and it made things peaceful for me. I smiled and glanced up to the sky, the sky is a pretty blue with the sun shining like it's the best day to do anything.
"You seem in a good mood," Sebastian smiled at me.

Oh my, quit doing that! Ugh, why me? "Yes I'm in a good mood. Killed a couple vamps last night, slept like a baby, and now heading to town on this gorgeous morning. Life seems good," I happily said.
"I'm glad you have a positive attitude with life. Anymore people don't have that kind of spirit anymore. But any who, what did you mean that Violet knows how to get a hold of you when you'll be miles away? Wait, she's telepathic?"
"Yes she is, and a strong one, so don't fuck around with her because she can screw up your mind, believe me, she did that to a vicious werewolf two years ago. That was crazy, it scared me, but she learned to control it better, but just to forewarn you because you're part of the group now," I glanced at the sky again.

"Thanks for the warning, but I'm not that type of guy. I don't hurt women, unless they're unnatural, or trying to kill me, but that's the exception."
We got quiet, just walking through the woods, and I know the woods are ending here in a few minutes which made me happy. Having Sebastian around, might actually be a good thing, I wanted to say no but it's just, he's so handsome, but he wouldn't want a girl like me as a girlfriend. I'm definably not girlfriend material, just look at me, I'm a demon...but he is too? So, I have to think positive. He's demon too, so I have a chance? Please God, for once.

"Was you ten when you got your talent?" he broke the silence.
"Yeah, my mother hid the fact I'm half demon from me. My mom is human, my dad is demon, but my dad got murdered ten years ago. I been trying to find who killed him, but I have no leads, no nothing; it's to the point of giving up," I sadly declared.
Sebastian held my arm, and helped me over the hedge I forgot about and was going to run into it, but he stopped me and helped me over. "You shouldn't give up, Alex. I understand how you feel, but giving up isn't the answer. Revenge runs deep in our blood because it's a demon thing. I'm here, I'll help you out the best I can," he smiled at me.

"Aww, thanks. Those little things might keep me around longer than you want me too," I snickered.
"Oh well, I enjoy being around you," then he winked at me.
Uh oh, this isn't good, wait, it is good; I think? I like him; I want to be around him, but what if he doesn't want me around? That comment obviously wants me around, so he likes me? Ugh, don't get over your head; let time see how we get.
"So, where's the store?" he quickly said, letting go of my arm.

"Right over there. Let's make this quick, I'm starting to have a bad feeling."
We walked over to the store and started to quickly pick up food and supplies. I looked at the stuff that we picked up, and thought. Then something hit me hard in the gut, something bad is close by and we needed to get out of here.
"Sebastian..."
"Alex, we need to go, now," he quickly said,
I hurried to the cashier, but Sebastian grabbed a hold of my wrist and took me outside.

"I have to take back the food!"
"No Alex, something is in there that's bad. If this thing finds us, we might be in a load of trouble. We need to hurry back to came, and fast," he said hurrying me to the woods, and he transformed into his demon form. He pulled me into his arms, picked me up, and started to fly.
This feels so relaxing, not having to transform and work. I'm glad he's looking out for me; it's nice to have that luxury. I looked down to see the trees and our camp coming, but I started to feel sad, knowing that our quality time is going to end.

He landed right before the camp and changed back to his human form. He let me down and the food dropped on the ground.
"Oh damn, stupid me," I muttered and started to pick up the food.
"No you're not stupid," he bent down and helped me pick the food up.
"Yeah," I mumbled and then he touched my hand. I looked up at him to see his eyes locked to mine, and then my heart started to race. "How do you do that?"
"Do what?" he blurted out.

"Do the things that make me nervous around you," I tried to pull my hand away but he wouldn't let go.
"I don't do things, just stare at you because you're amazing and strong willed, and you're understanding," he whispered.
I looked away, I wanted to cry, but that would cause problems.
"You're beautiful any way, shape, or form and you're smart. I wish I met you when we were kids, I would've had a better childhood then."
I looked back at him and he kissed my cheek, and I blushed. "I hope this isn't going to be a regular thing, I don't want Violet knowing about all this."

"If it makes you feel better, I'll just do these things when we're alone," he offered.
"Alright. I just wish there could be a simpler way in doing all this..." then I looked behind me, hearing Violet stirring around. "We need to get back to camp, she knows we're back."
"Okay," Sebastian smiled and stood up. "Let's get lunch made so we can eat; I'm starving," he laughed and walked back to camp with me.
