Chapter 5

I arrived at home and decided to call Ally, She makes me feel better when I’m down. "Hello?" "Hey Ally." "What happened?" She knows me so well. "Alex happened…"
"Hang on, I’m on my way"

After telling Ally everything she hugged me. "That guy has serious issues, don’t you think it’s better if you just quit" "No way! I worked way too hard." "Kylie, he’s just going to make you’re life a living hell, you know that." "No he wants me to quit, I’ll rather suffer there than give him what he wants!" "You’re so stubborn…"

I am so not looking forward for today. I have to see that bastard again. I decided to just ignore him and make sure everything I do is done perfectly then he won’t be able to use anything against me. I confidently walked into the office and saw Alex; I walked past him, ignoring him completely. That felt really good. As I walked to my desk I turned to sit down and saw him looking at me with anger written all over his face.
Lester asked me to join him for lunch again today and I accepted his offer.
He took me to the same restaurant we usually go.

While we were talking he shifted closer to me and looked me in the eyes. I just kept on talking like normal, but I felt a little uncomfortable. I was so glad that lunch was over. When we arrived at work he touched my shoulder softly. "That was nice we should do it again" he said." "Yeah it was fun" He walked back to his office and I went on with my work. "I need you in my office" Alex said walking past me to his office.

"Yes?" "We’re having a party for our client’s tomorrow night; I want you to organize it for me." "Okay that won’t be a problem, but I’ll need you to make a list of everything that you want done for the party and you’ll need to give me a fixed budget that I can work with. I’ll come by you’re office later to pick it up" I said swiftly and walked out. I think I handled that quite well. I won’t let him get me down. He obviously wants me to fail; seriously how does he expect me to organize a party in one day! I’ll make sure that I organize the best party this place ever had! I’ll show him.

I worked through the night to pull this off. I looked for cheap, but sufficient people to help with catering, decoration and waitressing. I asked Ally to help me go pick out some necessities for the party. Later I went through our system to get all the names of our clients. I got cute and original invitations from a friend of mine’s shop and delivered the invitations very early in the morning before work.

I managed to finish all my work before two o’clock. Then I had enough time to help the decorators and make sure that everything was in place. I walked up to my desk to call the clients to confirm who was coming, I was just getting started when Alex came in and handed me some papers. "This is a list off all the clients; you should probably inform them of the party." "Oh I already delivered their invitations, aren’t they cute?" I asked showing him a sample of the invitations. He looked surprised that I had already done that.
"Oh and the decorators are already busy down there and the caterers will arrive any moment now." "Okay…maybe you should get someone that can waiter tonight" "Already done. Don’t you worry about anything; I’ve got everything under control." He looked terribly disappointed. HA! He thought I wouldn’t be able to make it happen, but I did.

Alex’s pov
I really under estimated Kylie. I didn’t think she would actually be able to do this so fast.
I don’t get her, usually girls like her are only good at flirting or shopping, it seems that she actually has some brains. And I’ve started to notice she is very determined in her work, how odd. "I’ll be expecting you at the party tonight" I told her when I saw her running up the stairs. "I’ll be there." She said grabbing something from her desk and running down stairs again.

Kylie’s pov
I looked over the place one last time to make sure it was perfect and then headed home to get changed. I hated formal events, I never know what to wear and I hated wearing those boring dresses. I ended up wearing a Bright yellow dress and light purple shoes.

I arrived at the building and saw that there were already people arriving. I went in and greeted everyone and introduced myself to them. I made sure everyone had drinks and were satisfied.

Alex’s pov
I walked into the room and immediately noticed the girl in the bright yellow dress. She really stood out. I realized it was Kylie when I looked closer. She was walking around and chatting with some of the clients. She also helped the waiters to hand out drinks. I could see that she was really trying to make a good impression on everyone. Maybe I was too quick to judge her…

Kylie’s pov
I saw an elderly man looking very confused, standing at the table with the food platters on it. "Can’t decide what to eat, huh?" I asked him "Nope, it all looks so tasty I can’t decide." "Maybe you should try them all." "As much as I would like to, I can’t. My wife would kill me; she’s watching my health" "What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her" I said smiling He laughed. "Trust me she knows everything." "Oh well in that case…maybe you should try those" I said pointing at a platter. "They’re healthy and very tasty." "Thanks for the hint." "My pleasure" I said smiling.

"I’m glad you could make it" I heard Alex’s voice from behind me. He hugged the old man and said, "I see you’ve met my father."
"You’re father? I had no idea." "Yes I am. Bless my soul, I don’t know what I’ve done wrong to deserve him" His father said and laughed. I joined in and laughed with him; after we had our laughs I excused myself to go check on the other guests. "It was lovely to meet you, Kylie" "You too" I said smiling and shaking his hand.

Alex’s pov
"I like that young girl, she’s very nice." "Yes, she is" I said looking at her as she walked away. I must say she looks beautiful tonight.
