The Blinding Beauty Of White German Shepherds

White German Shepherds are not allowed to compete in competitions in many national kennel clubs around the world. White German Shepherds are also known under a variety of names, including the American White Shepherd. White German Shepherds act as the good-natured, wise and unforgettable white gods of myth and folklore.
Many so-called authorities on German Shepherd information will readily tell anyone and everyone that White German Shepherds have something missing, which does not make them "real" German Shepherds. But people who have shared their lives with White German Shepherds claim that White German Shepherds are just like any other color of German Shepherds, only with a white coat added. The recognized colors of German Shepherds include nearly every other color except white. This same color prejudice also happens in other breeds like the Boxer.

White German Shepherd Dogs are also known as the American White Shepherd and as the Berger Blanc Swiss. The national kennel clubs of many countries, including the American Kennel Club, does not recognize them as breed standard, but they are a recognized breed in Switzerland and Australia. Whatever you call them, you can't call them show dogs. But you certainly can call them great dogs, loyal friends and beloved companions.

White German Shepherds need the care, training and attention that any German Shepherd should get. Like most German Shepherd types, they are heavy shedders, so get used to dog hair before you bring one home. Some White German Shepherds do not have the thick double layered coats of the German Shepherd breed standard, which makes their coats less likely to tangle and easier to brush. Bathing too often can make them shed worse, so only bathe when absolutely necessary.

German Shepherd puppies, whatever their color or hair thickness, are incredibly impressionable. Anything that happens to them tends to effect them all of their lives. White German Shepherds need to be introduced to many situations and activities before they are fourteen weeks old in order to make training easier. However, there have been many abused, abandoned or special needs White German Shepherds who were literally old dogs that learned new tricks.

With the exception of coat color and possible exception of coat thickness, the White German Shepherd is, for all wants and purposes, a German Shepherd. Reading a book or web article on German Shepherd information is the same as reading one for White German Shepherds. They act like standard German Shepherds, have the same exercise demands as standard German Shepherds and are as intelligent as standard German Shepherds. They are also prone to the same health problems as standard German Shepherds.

White German Shepherds usually are very protective of their family, especially any children. They are usually quite cool and suspicious of strangers. Because of their size (they average 70 – 80 pounds) they should not really be unsupervised with small children. They need lots of exercise on a regular basis or they engage in destructive behavior like chewing up furniture out of boredom. With a healthy diet, exercise and luck, they live well into their teens.

Some days Jan Ryan thinks that she might have actually been raised by White German Shepherds instead of human parents. There have been dozens of articles written about general German Shepherd information and the different German Shepherd types of dogs. You can massive amounts of German Shepherd information at the library or on the Internet.
