The Big Truth on Plus Size Garter Belts

An article discussing how certain stereotypes have come along with plus size garter belts. These stereotypes lead to more online shopping for the garments than in store purchasing.
If you were to mention the term "plus size garter belts" to anyone they might start laughing, or cringing. When people think of a person wearing plus size garter belts they may imagine a morbidly obese woman trotting around in the kitchen sporting her underwear.

While I can't exactly prove that this doesn't happen, what I can tell you is this is a huge misconception as is the entire idea behind the word "plus size". Plus size doesn't even have to mean overweight. Depending on the dimensions of a person they can be wearing plus size clothing and still look very much in shape. But the social pressures still win out overall which has leads to women feeling unattractive by shopping at plus size stores in person.

This especially comes into play when talking about undergarments such as plus size garter belts. Women are much more likely to shop online for their plus size clothing than they are in person which leads to increased revenue for online shopping stores selling Plus Size Garter Belts. People should remember that technically at certain times some of America's most beautiful women are considered plus size such as Beyonce and Britney Spears yet we would never call them overweight or even chubby.

Breaking down the stereotype that comes along with terms like this is important so that people who are responsible with their dieting and eating habits can still enjoy their lifestyle without feeling silly walking into a store to purchase an article of clothing because of labels that society has put on them.
