The Betrayal (Chapter 2)

Comment. Thanks for reading.
An abomination they called me. A monster made to kill everything and anything without a second thought. I was the ultimate weapon of destruction. I think of this as I huddle in the dark corner of an alley slowly rocking back and forth. I am not here because I have no place to go. I am here because I have just developed a new power. Telekinesis. Objects in the alley begin to rock back and forth. Some begin to rise off the floor and smash back to earth breaking into little bits and pieces. I begin to feel like my head is going to explode and wish that Jacob was still alive.

The man that saved me from that horrid laboratory of corrupted scientists. I sit here and I begin to remember being observed every hour of every day. Living but not being able to think...to speak. I lived in a tank filled with water tubes sticking into my flesh in many areas. Every day I would be injected with some type of purple liquid that would burn me from the inside out.

The pain was awful and I wished every moment of my life in that tank I would die. That I would have a allergic reaction to whatever they were injecting me with. To leave and go back to the life I had left behind. But I knew that I would have nothing to go back to. My life before was burned away. My family and anyone close to me murdered. The records of me ever existing erased from every document. To the world Daniel Thorpe was never a citizen of the United States. A genius idea from the scientists to erase my existence from the earth and steal me to do illegal experiments. He rubbed his temples hoping the images would dissipate.

"Daniel?" Sarah walked into the room and the doors burst open from the other side of the room. Gun fire fills the room and he is momentarily stunned. What the hell is going on? He remembered thinking that before he saw his fiance on the ground blood seeping from her still warm body.

He shook his head and the memories faded and their he was again alone in a dark alley at who knows what time at night. He opened his eyes and noticed his Telekinesis had been reduced and that only small particles of rock were circling the concrete floor. Deciding it would be best to get to the cheap motel fast before he accidentally levitated a car he rushed out of the alley bewildering people he passed.

He kept his face to the ground and his hands in his jacket pockets. He spoke only to say excuse me or a sorry to anyone he accidentally bumped into. Suddenly, the hair on the back of his neck stood up and he knew what to expect. He was no longer out of the clutches of the corrupted. He had been found and they were fast on his trail. There would be only so much time to get what he needed from his room and then he would run. Run from the corrupted and escape death once again.
