Chicago
The city of Chicago has two Major League Baseball teams that call it home, the American League's Chicago White Sox and the National League's Chicago Cubs. The Chicago Bears, one of the most famous National Football League teams, have called the city home for more than eighty years. The popular Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League also play in the city and have particularly loyal fan followings. There are also a number of active college athletic programs available in and around the city.
New York City
New York City has been a popular sports destination for years and offers a wide variety of options for fans looking to see a live competition. Denver
The city of Denver and the surrounding area offer a great many opportunities for outdoor recreation, but the city also has wonderful spectator sport opportunities as well. The Colorado Rockies have played in the city since they were established in 1993. The Denver Broncos have been one of the more successful teams to have made the transition from the old American Football League to the National Football League. The Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League have experienced a great deal of success since moving to Denver in 1995. The city also has a National Basketball Association team too, the Denver Nuggets, who are quite popular within the city.
Raleigh-Durham
The Carolina Hurricanes National Hockey League club represents the city well, but other than them professional sports are limited in the Raleigh-Durham area. There are a number of minor league baseball teams in the area, as well as some minor sports represented, but the bulk of the high quality sporting events offered are part of college programs. The Raleigh-Durham area is home to three of the most competitive and closely situated colleges in the country. Raleigh is home to North Carolina State University, the Wolfpack, and Durham is where both the Duke University Blue Devils and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels play. All three schools offer first class sports teams at the college level.
San Francisco
San Francisco is famous as a great tourist destination, and part of the equation are the fabulous sports teams located in the city and the surrounding area. Major League Baseball is represented by the San Francisco Giants, as well as the Oakland Athletics that play across the bay in Oakland. The National Football League also has two teams in the vicinity with the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders both having a large and rabid fan base. The National Basketball Association has a team there too in the Golden State Warriors.
