Drills are one of the most important things that should be done in any sports. Every coach must see to it that each of his players is participating in all the drills of their team. During the drills the coach must look at the players’ developments and mistakes. The mistakes must be corrected at once because drills will be useless if the coach just ignore all the mistakes that are done by his players. Drills must be done on the following fields: hitting, fielding, and throwing.

Softball drills for hitting are really necessary. Why? It is due to the fact that if a team has a good hitter then they have a big possibility to win. If you are the coach, you must make sure that all of your players are not doing the wrong methods in hitting the ball. You must ensure that your hitter is focused and always has the right position. Observe how they swing. Look at their hand’s position and how they hold the bat. Observe properly so that you will be able to recognize how they can become your idea on how they perform. In this way, you’ll know how to react and give the possible reply to their every move.

Softball drills for fielding are also important. In fielding, a player’s aim must keep the ball in front of him. As a coach, you must advice your player that his shoulder must be square to the ball. Aside from that, you must also look if the player slide their feet to get in front of the ball, if they scoop the ball with their two hands, or if they bend their knees to field the ball.

Another important thing is the softball drills for throwing. Every now and then, you must give your players drills in throwing so you will be able to check their developments in this field. You should test how accurate and how strong their throws are from various distances. While they are doing the throws, look how at their arms, feet, and upper body. Notice if they are doing any improper footwork so you will be able to correct it instantly. Improper position must result to weak throws so you must really observe them.

In conclusion, in order for all these softball drills to be excellent and effective, the coaches really need to observe and watch their players during the drills so that they can guide and correct them with their mistakes. Without your guidance, your players will be lost. While your players are practicing their softball drills, you must be there for them. Make them feel that you assure them of your support anytime and every time. Have a bonding time with them, too. Develop a fun activity that will make them feel confident about themselves. Have fun on your drills. Make them feel also that they are treated. This will not just alleviate the stress of everyday practice. This will also develop more confidence in the softball match.
