The Barmanou

Learn some facts behind the Barmanou, that show this creature of cryptozoology may be a being from the spiritual realm
The Barmanou or the Barmanu is a tall, bipedal creature found in the mountains of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Over the years numerous sighting of the Barmanou have been reported by local Shepherds. Local lore tells tales of the Barmanou abducting women with the intention of mating with them. One person who has studied and researched on the Barmanou extensively is Dr. Jordi Magraner. The term "Barmanou" is derived from the Sanskrit term Ban-Manus, this term loosely translates as: Man of the Forest.

The Barmanou is considered by many as another form of the Sasquatch. Its features resemble that of the American "Bigfoot"; the "Yeti" of the Himalayas; in China they call their Sasquatch as the "Yeren" and Native American tell tales of the "Witiko or Wendigo." The Barmanou and other forms of the Sasquatch are creatures that have both Human and Ape characteristics, which is the main reason why they have speculated as being the missing link between Humans and Apes. Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Barmanou or Barmanu has been reported to wear animal skin upon its back and head. This trait of the Barmanou would suggest that it has a higher level of intelligence compared to most known species of Ape. In fact, if these reports are proven, it would seem that the Barmanou is exhibiting characteristics that were unique to early man.

The Barmanou is mentioned in the folklore of the people in the Northern Regions of Pakistan there, the Barmanou is described with a form of an ape or a wild man. Like the Bigfoot, tales of the Barmanou are accompanied by stories of its horrific smell (the American Bigfoot is said to smell like excrement or sewage); this data had lead researchers to believe that the Barmanou may be related to a North American Ape, the Skunk Ape.

One of the most influential people in the study of the Barmanou is Dr. Jordi Magraner who was a Spanish scientist who lived in France. He was killed in 2002, during one of his stays in Pakistan. He was the one who founded the Institute of Cryptozoology. It said that Dr. Magraner had never reached his goal of seeing the fabled Barmanou for himself. All his time were spent with the people that resulted in records of the natives and their experiences with the Barmanou.

As for the late Dr. Magraner, his untimely death remains shrouded in mystery and has left a lot of data about the Barmanou unshared to the rest of the world. Fascination with the Barmanou and other creatures like it will not die with the death of one man. The fascination to learn of the unknown is innate with all of us. The legend of the Sasquatch and all other creatures related to (i.e. Barmanou, Yeti, Bigfoot) will continue because there are enough eyewitnesses and sightings that are too numerous to be dismissed as hoaxes.

There is a website that describes the Barmanou and numerous other creatures of Cryptozoology in detail, this website is called: Unknown Creatures and it may be found at this url: http://www.unknown-creatures.com
