For the first time in the history of ABC’s romance reality show, The Bachelor, didn’t pick either finalist and left the show still a bachelor. In the 11th season finale, Brad Womack, sent both women home shocking the women and audiences alike. Monday’s finale left many viewers with a bad taste in their mouths. Womack seemed to be one of the most genuine bachelors that have ever appeared on the show. He seemed to genuinely care about the women he was getting to know and all the feelings he was hurting…. but in the end he left two women brokenhearted.

The last two ladies standing, Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas, were both hurt when Womack sent them packing. After bring both women home to meet his mother and two brothers he said, "I never in a million years thought it’d be this tough. But I know exactly what I’m going to do today, and I am so confident in that decision. I have to follow my heart." Womack first faced Croft, a 27-year old Phoenix Suns cheerleader. He told Croft that she brought out a side of him that no one else ever has, but that he wants something more and tells her good-bye. Next he faces Pappas, a 25-year old realtor, and he tells her that he has never met anyone like her. He also tells her that he said good-bye to Jenni leading her to believe that she is getting the final rose and Womack’s heart. Suddenly he walks away looking extremely nervous. He comes back after a few minutes and tells Pappas that he cannot tell her he loves her and refuses to give her promises that he cannot keep. He then tells her good-bye.

So is Womack a good guy or just a jerk? Is he a jerk because he led these women on? Or is he a good guy because he didn’t want to lead them on any further? Maybe he didn’t find love…is it better that he let them both go or propose to one and then inevitably a few weeks or months later announce an "amicable" split? The Bachelor/Bachelorette’s track record isn’t too hot any way! Out of 11 seasons of The Bachelor only season 6’s Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado are still together. Reportedly a marriage is planned for sometime in the future. And out of three season’s of The Bachelorette only Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter are happily married. Rehn was a cast-off from the first season of The Bachelor. Rehn and Sutter welcomed their first child – Maxwell Alston – in July 2007.
