The Assassin's Love - 21
Ooooh....Dun Dun Dun. Gorgeous staircase....
The plane landed in the airport on time. As she grabbed her bag, Niamah couldn't help but feel a sense of Deja Vu. Jacob stretched at the bottom of the stairs and then followed her in. They rented a car, dumped their bags in the back and then got in. Niamah knew exactly where they were going. Silence dominated the car, but it was alright with her. Now that she had forced all thoughts of Jayden out of her mind, she was concentrating harder then ever before. She would not mess this up again! Jacob glanced at her fingers, white from clenching the steering wheel so hard. She was scaring him. She was seriously scaring him.

Daniel stared at the man in front of him.
"She is on her way" he said simply. Daniel looked down.
"Okay"
"You know what's going to happen don't you?"
Daniel shrugged. He knew, and there was nothing he could do to change it...at least not now. The man placed a hand on Daniel's shoulder and forced him to look him in the eyes.
"Don't worry. Nothing is going to happen to you. Like I promised". As much as Daniel knew he shouldn't believe him, he had a hard time trying not to. So he smiled and nodded. Like Xavier wanted him to.
~*~*~*~*~*~
At the wall. Again. Niamah glanced at Jacob. He nodded and pulled a package out of the bag slung around his chest. She watched as he fiddled about with something and then the unmistakable ticking of a bomb filled the quiet air. He placed it at the bottom of the massive gates and they stepped out of the way. Five seconds later it exploded....noiselessly. The effect though was helpful. The gates swung open after they simultaneously kicked at them. Straight away an alarm went off. Niamah and Jacob ran parallel to each other, heading for the doors of the mansion. Niamah pulled a pick gun out of her trouser pocket and immediately set to work while Jacob watched her back. A few seconds later they just managed to close the door, just as twenty five of the most vicious dogs in the world slammed into it.
When they turned around they were met by the sight of countless guards. Jacob swore under his breath, but dropped into a defensive stance. Niamah did the same. Five at the front headed for them, Niamah glanced at Jacob, he shrugged.
Rolling her eyes, she grabbed the outstretched arm of the first guy with both hands, then kneed him in the groin. He doubled over and she elbowed him in the back causing him to bend over even further which she followed up with a knee to his face.
The next guy never even made it close to her because she jumped and delivered him a side kick to his ribs that took all the breath out of him. Third guard was wary as he made to grab her wrist, but she simply swung her left leg up and over, smashing her foot into his face. Fourth guard was flipped over and knocked out two others. And fifth guard got a roundhouse kick that knocked him unconscious.
Together her and Jacob got through what seemed like an endless amount of guards in about ten minutes. Seeing there was no more, they straightened up and high-fived each other.
But their joy was under lived because a slow clapping sound rang in their ears. Turning towards the magnificent staircase they saw Xavier. Niamah gaped. An explosion the size that hers had been was enough to kill a man, and even though he had survived (god knows how) he should have been injured. Xavier's handsome face was smooth, not a scratch in sight. The only thing that gave his previous predicament away was the slight limp to his left leg. He saw her looking and laughed.
"Hmmm...it's amazing what plastic surgery can do these days" he smiled.
"How did you survive that explosion?" she had to ask.
He stopped at the bottom step on the right side, and just stared, as if considering whether to answer or not.
"I suppose I will tell you, seeing as you're gong to die". Niamah scowled at him.
"I never go anywhere without being fully prepared. So I suppose you could say I was prepared for my death," he paused "I did die. But I have the world's most experienced doctors and surgeons on hand. They brought me back to life" he grinned.
Jacob groaned and Niamah knew how he was feeling.
"I wish they hadn't" he muttered. Xavier laughed again.
"I suppose you're here for a reason?"
"Where's Daniel? We know he's here"
"Oh he's here alright. I just don't think he needs rescuing" he shrugged.
"What -" Jacob started to say but was interrupted by Niamah's gasp.
Daniel had suddenly appeared at the top of the left side of the staircase. He was unharmed, and it looked like to them, completely taken care of. He also had no look on his face to indicate...relief.
