THE ARSONIST

I shall hold on, come what may..... I respect the institution called marriage ---- was his stand!
He loved her from deep within his heart.
Lots of dreams and desires filled his love cart.
One fine day, he proposed to her in all sincerity.
She accepted his love in all modesty.

Little did he know what was in store?
Mysterious future was ready with problems galore.
They married each other and became two.
About her true self, he didn't get a slightest cue?

From two, they turned in to a family of three!
After a very short while his job bid goodbye and set him free!!
With a lovely angel on his lap, he was terrified with his uncertain future.
He was holding on sheerly because of his jolly good nature.

Destiny's disastrous plans were having their heart's fill.
His wife's jeer and taunts were hurting him to kill.
He didn't know whom and where to turn to?
Career options left were indeed, very few.

His wife's feigned goodness and kindness breathed its last.
In lightning's pace, her so-called modesty faded to vanish fast!
Her harsh reality and true self came as a shock to him.
Bitterness and disappointment filled his heart to the brim.

His child was kept away from him as he was worthless.
To click her pictures, he was forbidden citing reasons, utterly useless.
Notwithstanding the mental torture, he was driven to raising hands on the better half.
Sinister that she was, she would present herself as a lame calf!

His self-confidence gave way to remorse and regret.
Rude insults and insinuated accusations, thro' his life he wouldn't forget.
All thanks to his 'worst half' treating him like some dangerous criminal.
His violent temper turned worse which seemed quite natural.

That is all and can't be taken any more, he decided.
Happily from his wife and as a sad father, he fled.
He tried hard focusing at various options which he thought were not his.
But then, plunging in to an altogether different occupation proved to be bliss!

Whatever and however his wife was, he loved her dearly.
He was missing his little one and her mother, very badly.
He decided to give his life and wife, a fresh second chance.
He promised himself to make his marriage boat balance.

There wasn't even a minuscule change in the scenario.
But then, living under the same roof was this trio.
Her jealous and evil mind, he couldn't control or conform.
Her vicious tongue continued spilling venom which he couldn't fathom.

With all this and worse, against her he didn't hold any grouse.
His innate sense of humor and wit only could light the house!
She never ever understood this good and loving person.
Her mornings started with curses and abuses which could be aptly named, arson!

With the passage of time, I lost touch with his whereabouts.
But, very often than not, I saw his flashes in my memory's bouts.
However, all I wished for him was a better life.
Also, I hoped that the woman transformed in to a reasonably kind wife!!
