The Angel's Heart 4

Will Maria be married? WHo will save her? A Handsome stranger perhaps?
"I need to talk to you," it was Maria’s father.

They were in her room, and it was hours after the ball had finished. Miguel had gotten safely away, but not without causing an uproar.

"What would you like to talk about father?" she said. Maria was gently brushing her hair. She knew what was coming next.

"You are to be wed tomorrow,"

Maria dropped her brush. She knew there was a marriage proposal, but they hadn’t even asked her and it was so soon. She looked at him, anger flaring in her eyes.

"What if I do not want to be wed?" she said, standing up.

"You will do as you’re told, you only need to be a good wife and have plenty of kids, that’s all a man wants."

"Well, what about what I want father? Have you ever cared about another? I don’t want to be married, I’m so young and I want to explore the world, go into politics, there’s so much I want to learn and do! I haven’t even LIVED yet!"

"Quiet! I will not hear anymore nonsense. It is not only your duty as a woman, but as a daughter. You will be wed and that’s final. Get some sleep you will have to wake up early tomorrow," with that he left the room.

Maria sank down and cried. She was no more than a pet, a doll, to be displayed. Wiping her eyes, she went to the drawer and fumbled around for a bit, until she saw it. The whistle Miguel gave her. She traced it lightly and instantly images popped up in her mind.

The way they fought one another, the kisses Miguel gave her…………..

It was like a dream. Would he really come to her if she blew the whistle? Only one way to find out. She didn’t want this life, she wanted a life of freedom and where she was treated equal. A fool’s wish many said. But still, a good one.

With a deep breath she leaned out her window, put the whistle between her lips and blew…..

Miguel plunged the sword into the beasts’ chest, just as he heard it, the faint music in the wind. Maria used her whistle. He finished slaughtering the beast. Then made his way towards the music. It was nighttime now, and it made him harder to see. But at least he had magic for that.

"I’m coming Maria," he thought, "I’m coming…."

*********************************************************

Maria lay down on the bed, but left the porch door open, so that if by any chance, Miguel could come in.

"Come, Miguel, come. Save me….." she thought before she drifted off to sleep.

It was in the middle of the night when she heard it. The soft creaking of the floor boards. She turned around and a hand instantly went to her mouth to stop her from screaming. She flicked on the lamp light and carried it so she could see the intruder’s face. It was Miguel.
She gasped. He let go.

Miguel was panting heavily, "What is it Maria? I heard you blowing the whistle,"

Maria sat up and looked at him. She didn’t know how to begin, she rehearsed the speech inside her head of how she wanted to get away and to go with him.
Maria looked away. She came out of bed and said four simple words.

"Take me with you,"

Miguel stared at her. He really stared.

"I came to Senorita’s side, expecting to fight of some, beast or another, but instead I find Senorita safely tucked in bed," his gaze raked her from head to toe.
Maria blushed. Miguel turned away and walked towards the porch. Maria hurried after him.

"Wait! I need to change clothing!"

"You can’t be serious can you? I will not take you with me. It is too dangerous! You have a perfect life here! Why aren’t you content?"

"I am to be married tomorrow! To Diego! I don’t want to marry him, if possible, I don’t want to marry anyone. I want to explore the world, see new things, not be kept as a pet!"

Miguel looked away. Then he looked back at her, he really looked at her. His eyes glistened in the moon light Seeing no other option, Maria flung to her knees and begged him.

"Please Miguel! You’re my last hope!"

Maria was on the brink of tears. Miguel crouched down to her level and raised her chin. He looked her in the eyes and said, "You really want to do this? It is very dangerous. ‘I’ am very dangerous. I don’t want anything to happen to the beautiful Senorita…."

He sighed and got up. Miguel started pacing and muttering something in Spanish, it didn’t sound too polite. He stopped and looked out the porch into the gentle night.

"Please," Maria whispered.

Miguel sighed and raked his hand through his hair. "Pack you things, you will travel lightly, we will leave before anyone knows you are missing,"

Maria said a giddy thanks and dressed, with Miguel’s back to her. She strapped her knife to her leg and took all the swords she could manage. She was ready. Maria looked at Miguel he was beautiful. His features were lit up by the moon, now he was the type of man she could see herself marrying……

So what did you think of that? Did you like A Dark Seduction 3? Do you like A Dark Seduction as a whole, would you like me to continue it? Please tell me what you think. As to whether I should continue A Dark Seduction and whether you liked chapter 3. Chapter 4's when the romance kicks in.

So any way please tell me what you think of The Angel's Heart(the story above,) and a Dark Seduction.
