The Angel's Heart 3 Part 2

"Senorita?" It was Miguel.

"Miguel? What are you doing here? Do you want to go on death roll?"

He put a hand to his heart. "I am flattered that the Senorita would care if my head got chopped off,"
Maria turned away from him, "I must get back to the ballroom, good bye Miguel," she turned and walked away from the study.

In the ball room, Diego greeted her.

"How is this beautiful lady doing this evening?" he said

"Fine thank you," She replied.

Diego took something out from his pocket. It was a beautiful rose. He took it and pinned it to her dress.

"I feel as though you are trying to tell me something," Maria said, her pulse was speeding up. She wasn’t sure what to tell him.

As Diego opened his mouth to say something when alarm rang out.

"Intruder! Intruder! Quickly hunt him down!"

Deigo distracted ran after the crowded, while Maria silently prayed that Miguel would be alright. She ran to the window and saw Miguel standing across the ledge.

"Miguel, quickly you must go away! They are coming after you!" Maria said.

Miguel reached out and traced her jaw with a finger, a small touch but one that lit fire in her heart.

"I like that the Senorita cares about me. But," he leaned towards her, "I am a dangerous man, one which you should not get involved with," his eyes zeroed on the rose Deigo gave her.

He unpinned it and gave it to the wind. Maria watched as it softly floated to the ground. He whispered, "I’ll not have anyone else make you beautiful but me,"

He leaned towards her and gave her a parting kiss. Then disappeared into the night…..
