The American Arthritis Association - Towards a Better Future

The advocacy against arthritis has always been the priority of several American politicians, more particularly Senator Kennedy. And that actually became the basis of the American Arthritis Association's advocacy against the disease. The role of the American Arthritis Association in the society had allowed arthritis patients to manage their disease better and become more aware of the things that they can do to help alleviate their condition.

The American Arthritis Association holds a summit on an annual basis to pool the resources, experiences, and knowledge of experts, heath practitioners, pharmaceutical giants, and patients for the benefit of everybody. The summit is known to touch the families of arthritis patients as it always create a positive impact for them should they elect to join.

The American Arthritis Association also serves as a mediator between arthritis patients and the government. Patients are given the right level of care and attention because the group strives to lobby laws for the welfare of arthritis patients. The government normally grants studies and researches that aim to formulate new and better treatments for the most common types of arthritis that plague the world. The recent development when it comes to arthritis drug is the combination of both biologic and synthetically formulated medicines to treat arthritis.

Aside from creating formulas for new medicine, American Arthritis Association also secures the welfare of patients, especially the uninsured. A good percentage of the American public doesn't have the necessary health insurance to protect them in times of hospitalization. This is slowly being address by the group's constant appeal to elected government officials for them to propose laws that can provide for at least the basic health care requirements of the 50 million Americans who don't have any health coverage. The group is also looking into adding children to the list of qualified recipients.

A related project is the move to make children a part of their parent's health insurance coverage. Campaigns are held on schools about this program to inform parents about it. Parents have to know that there are some low-cost health care plans that are available for them and their kids. There are even some that can be obtained for free if they're qualified.

The American Arthritis Association works closely with people suffering from arthritis and the government so that Congressmen would be able to create and enact laws that could benefit patients. Right now a certain act for arthritis prevention, control and cure is being read and reviewed. Hopefully, it would pass legislation and benefit all arthritis patients.
