The Agony of Dying
Lament.
If only I could have seen
Her face when she had died,
The life fading effortlessly
From her beautiful eyes
As the blue corrupts to black.
I would have done anything
To be by her side, the woman
I loved and cherished, as God
Took her hand and led her away.
I left her alone to die.
Alone and cold on a summers eve
All life’s vitality swam away
As her fragile heart let go.
I would have waited forever
I aged a thousand years waiting
For her kiss to avenge all the
Lost and broken years,
Yet now she is gone forever,
A wisp of smoke on a distant
Horizon and I say to myself that
If ever there was a girl who
Could make me mourn her death
So much as this, then truly
She was the most perfect girl
For me.
Her face when she had died,
The life fading effortlessly
From her beautiful eyes
As the blue corrupts to black.
I would have done anything
To be by her side, the woman
I loved and cherished, as God
Took her hand and led her away.
I left her alone to die.
Alone and cold on a summers eve
All life’s vitality swam away
As her fragile heart let go.
I would have waited forever
I aged a thousand years waiting
For her kiss to avenge all the
Lost and broken years,
Yet now she is gone forever,
A wisp of smoke on a distant
Horizon and I say to myself that
If ever there was a girl who
Could make me mourn her death
So much as this, then truly
She was the most perfect girl
For me.
