The Agent That I Am: Part III
Here is chapter three Angelo. Hope every one likes it.
As the next few days went by, Eric would walk me home every day from school and I would try to avoid Frank. Unfortunately he saw me in the hall and started to walk up to me. When I saw him, I turned and walked around a corner trying to ditch him. Then thinking fast, I slipped into the girls bathroom. After he passed, I let out a revealed sigh, opened the door a little more, looked around one last time and then ran to class!
After school, I was walking down the street with Eric, by now we had gotten to know each other pretty well. He was talking to me about England, how old it was, how it came to be, all that jazz. I was staring at him in awe, I never heard anyone talk that way about their homeland before. He was so, I don't know, so poetic, he caught me staring at him. ''What?'' he asked, stopping in mid sentence. ''Oh, nothing,'' I quickly looked away, blushing three shades of red. ''By the way, what time is the party tomorrow?'' he asked, still staring at me. ''It's at one,'' I didn't look at him. ''Oh, I suppose I should bring a gift.'' We started walking again ''I don't think you have to, I mean you can if you want, there's no law against it.'' He looked at me questioningly.
''I don't think I will ever understand your American sayings.'' He was still looking at me funny when we reached my driveway. ''Um, later, see you tomorrow,'' I said and ran to the front door, and was about to open it when I heard, ''Just one more thing.'' I turned around to face Eric, ''Yes?'' I said, ''What does later mean?'' he asked, I laughed and said ''See ya, Eric.'' Then went inside, but before I closed the door I heard Eric say ''See ya?'' That made me laugh more.
The next morning, I was rudely awakened from my peaceful slumber by my evil alarm clock. It was blasting in my ear: I feel like a monster by Skillett, don't get me wrong, I love the song, but not at five in the morning. 'Stupid clock' I reached over half blind, trying to find the snooze button. In the process, I fell out of bed. ''Okay, that hurt.'' I was lying face down on the cold, hard, did I mention it was cold, ground. Best of all, I still hadn't turned off the alarm. I stood up half dazed, turned off the clock and dragged myself to the bathroom. After I got dressed, I headed downstairs. My vision was still blurry and my ears, still ringing. 'Next time I'm setting it to classical music.' I was wearing cut off shorts that went to my knees and a pink T with a star on it. (I like stars.)
My aunt was already up and making coffee. ''Morning sunshine, looks like you could use some coffee.'' She held up a pot of it. ''Yuck! You know I hate that stuff.'' I made a face, while opening the fridge and grabbing a mountain dew. I opened it and took a big gulp, ''I needed that.'' I said to myself and sat down at the island trying in vain to wake up. My aunt was going on about what kind of food to make and what kind of drinks to serve. It was enough to make me fall asleep again, if I hadn't been drinking caffeine. After I drank two cans of soda, and had a couple of doughnuts, I was awake enough to think and see straight. I asked my aunt if I could help with the cooking, she said no, she wanted to do it all herself.
(It was her first party) Before I went upstairs I said ''By the way, where is Joe?''
''He's out buying some things for the party. He should be back in a few hours, in time to set up.'' ''Okay, I'll be in my room,'' I said as I walked up the stairs. Once in my room, I flipped on the T.V. and started to watch some British show. While watching, I was on my laptop doing a background check on Frank. ''Hmmm, he seems clean. Now to check Eric.'' I was just making sure that I could trust him, ''Wow squeaky clean.'' When I finished I did some research on England, then I practiced my marshal arts along with some other stuff. I looked at my clock, it read 11:45, so I went downstairs for an early lunch. When I reached the kitchen, it was crammed full with platers of food, ''Wow, are we hosting a party or feeding an army.''
I reached for one of the horderves, but Millie slapped my hand away. ''Those are for the party.'' ''Alright, fine.'' When her back was turned. I tried it again, ''Don't even think about it,'' she said with her back towards me. ''Man your good,'' I grabbed an apple off the counter. ''Go get dressed for the party, then when your done, come and help set up,'' Millie said while picking up a plate. ''Ok,'' I went to my room and rummaged through my closet. I picked an electric blue dress top with ruffles around the collar. Then I chose black skinny jeans with black flats. And for an accessory, I put on a black, silver and gold bedazzled belt. I put my hair in a sideways ponytail with a turquoise necklace and earrings.
I went downstairs and tried to be happy, but with the thought of complete strangers coming into my house and sticking their nose where it doesn't belong, made me worried and angry at the same time. When I reached the kitchen, I saw aunt and uncle talking, it must have been important because they stopped when I came into view. ''Oh Jewel, you look lovely,'' Millie gushed when she saw me. ''Yes, you do Love, perfectly lovely,'' Said Joe. I eyed them suspiciously, ''Ok, what's going on?'' ''What do you mean?'' said Millie, while displaying a fake smile. ''What aren't you telling me? and by the way, you answered my question with a question.'' I could tell she was hiding something, she was never a very good liar.
''Now, don't worry about a thing and here, take this clipboard and go make sure that everything is ready,'' she handed me the clipboard while smiling. ''Fine if you won't tell me, I'll find out myself.'' I took the board and a platter of food with me out the door, to the backyard. The yard was a decent size, it had a circular brick patio and flowers all around. To my left was a table with food and drinks and to the right was a couple of tables and chairs. I put the platter on the already full table, looked at the clipboard and started to check things off one by one. I was so busy with that, that I didn't hear someone coming up behind me. ''Hello,'' said a strange voice. I whipped around at the sound of it and standing in front of me was a boy, he looked about 17, with raven black hair and emerald green eyes. He had pale skin, was about six inches taller than me and had an American accent.
He took my hand and kissed it, ''You must be Juliet,'' he said, but didn't let go of my hand. ''Yes, and you are?'' I tried to take my hand out of his grasp, but he wouldn't let go. ''How rude of me, my name is Blade Storm, and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.'' He was now stroking my hand, just his touch sent chills up my spine. ''Yeah, can I have my hand back now?'' I yanked it out of his, then turned around with my checklist and tried to ignore him. Unfortunately, he was a persistent little son of a gun. ''You know,'' he said, ''You look so beautiful.'' I rolled my eyes, then turned around to face him. ''Look, I have a job to do, so if you don't mind.'' I walked past him and over to the tables where the chairs were turned upside down on top of them.
''And plus, I'm not allowed to take compliments from total strangers,'' I started to move the chairs. ''I mean it, you look ravishing,'' he said. I rolled my eyes again and sighed, still trying to put chairs in there upright position. ''Here, let me help you with that.'' He took the chair that I was holding and set it right-side up. He was just too polite, 'Lord, give me strength.' I thought, then plastered on a fake smile and tried to be nice to yet another complete jerk.
