The Adventures of Aurora Bloom- Chapter 1

Aurora Bloom's parents worked in a National Wildlife Conservation Committee. One day on a trip to Africa, Aurora's parents are reported missing. It's up to Aurora Bloom, and her best friend, Nathaniel Harrington, to save Aurora's parents before it's too late.
Chapter 1
Aurora finds out that her parents are going to Africa without her, so Aurora plans to seek her vengeance. But will her parent's trick her?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aurora stared at the blank piece of paper. Art homework was so complicated! She carefully picked up her green colored pencil, and she drew a circle on the paper. Aurora felt a cold hand rest on her shoulder. The pencil tip snapped under the pressure, as Aurora whipped around to come face to face with Nathaniel. "Don't do that," Aurora grumbled. "Gotcha!" Nathaniel shouted with glee.

Aurora cautiously turned around in her chair. She faced the paper again, and she muttered as she picked up her pencil sharpener, and stabbed her green pencil into it. Nathaniel plopped down on Aurora's bed, and grabbed a thick book that rested on a pillow. It read: DIARY, in bold letters on the cover. Nathaniel giggled softly. Aurora rolled her eyes and threw the spent colored pencil at Nathaniel.

A small tapping sound came from the door. It slowly creaked open, and Mrs. Bloom stepped inside. "Well, hello Nathaniel. I didn't even notice you come in. You're like a little mouse," Mrs. Bloom said. "More like an annoying rat," Aurora retorted. Mrs. Bloom shook her head. "Aurora, your father and I have decided that it's better if you don't join us to that trip to Africa," Mrs. Bloom said softly. Aurora jumped out of her chair and yelled, "That's not fair!" "Sorry," Aurora's mother said in a stern tone.

Mrs. Bloom sped out the door, so she could avoid Aurora's tantrum. Nathaniel wasn't so lucky. "Stupid! Stupid! STUPID!" Aurora screamed at the top of her lungs. Nathaniel dove under the comforter, but Aurora stuck her hand under it, and pulled Nathaniel out by the scruff of his shirt. She proceeded to spit in his face. Nathaniel recoiled in utter disgust. "I'm going to bloody murder someone tonight!" Aurora screamed at the top of her lungs, "Nathaniel Harrington, you better watch out!"

After a lot more screaming, Aurora collapsed onto her chair, and drew a small blue circle just outside the green circle. She grabbed a red marker and drew a bunch of choppy angry lines over both the circles. She grabbed a pink glitter pen and wrote: AURORA BLOOM, at the very top of the page. Aurora's head went smashing down onto the desk, and sloppy sobs could be heard coming from her huddled body. Nathaniel Harrington took this time to escape.

After Nathaniel left, Aurora lifted her head. An evil glint was in her eyes as she whispered, "Revenge is sweet." She got up of her chair and walked over to the dry-erase board that hung in a precarious angle on the wall. A smile crept across her lips as she wrote: REVENGE, in permanent marker on the board. Nathaniel tiptoed into the room to see Aurora doing this, and he ran back out to the kitchen to join in a lively talk with Mrs. Bloom.

After Nathaniel had gone home, Aurora started coloring in the circles that she had drawn on the paper. She gave the jagged red lines little eyes, and both of them had purple stripes running down their backs. Small pink tongues stuck out of their heads. Sharp yellow teeth jutted out from under their pointy forked tongues . Aurora finished by adding a pointed little tail on each of them. Two little snakes stared up at Aurora's beaming face.

She picked up the piece of paper, and stuffed it in her backpack. Maybe art wasn't so bad after all. Aurora flung the backpack onto her back, and walked out the door. She hopped down the stairs rejuvenated. Mrs. Bloom stepped in front of Aurora before she could go any further. "Aurora, I'm so sorry, honey," Mrs. Bloom stifled, as she wrapped her arms around Aurora. Warm tears fell onto Aurora's hair as Mrs. Bloom cried over her daughter. "I'm done!" Mr. Bloom rushed into the living room to see the long embrace between mother and daughter.

With not a single bit of sympathy and forgiving, Aurora pulled away from her mother. "I finished the forms!" Mr. Bloom boomed with pure joy in his face. Aurora shook her head as she stared at her joyous father, who resembled a young, skinny Santa Clause. Mrs. Bloom quickly wiped away her tears, and she whooped with joy. "That's wonderful!" Mrs. Bloom cried happily. Aurora snickered as a wonderful plan began to form in her head. "I'm going outside," Aurora huffed as she sneaked through the front door.

A great smile was buttered across Aurora's face as she smelled the fresh air that lay outside. She grabbed her lime green bike that was leaning against the garage door. She pedaled down to Nathaniel's house, hoping that he was outside at the moment. Sure enough, Nathaniel and Gale were outside playing catch. Aurora waved to Gale. Gale blushed with embarrassment. Gale was Nathaniel's little brother and he had a crush on Aurora. Aurora ruffled Gale's hair, then she grabbed Nathaniel by the arm, and she dragged him onto her bike's handlebars.

Aurora and Nathaniel rode to Mockingbird Park. They sat on a small bench that was right by the edge of the children's playground area. The loud screams of children were blocked out from Aurora's mind as she pulled the drawing out from her backpack. Nathaniel gasped when he saw the drawing. "Like it?" Aurora asked. "It's very abstract," Nathaniel replied unsurely. Aurora, offended, stuck the drawing back into her backpack. "Let's get down to business," Aurora said in a serious tone. Nathaniel nodded bravely.

Aurora explained her plan of revenge. Every so often Nathaniel would nod. Rose walked by with a frown on her face. "What are the two lovebirds doing now?" she sneered. Nathaniel looked up at Rose, and he blocked out what Aurora was saying. Nathaniel had an extreme crush on Rose. "That's it! Now let's get ready to pull the trick!" Aurora finished. Nathaniel absent mindedly nodded at Aurora. Aurora pinched Nathaniel on the arm. He jumped, and the two friends got ready to pull of their trick.

Mrs. Bloom and Mr. Bloom sighed. "I'm sad that it has to come to this," Mrs. Bloom muttered. "We can't get away from Aurora any other way," Mr. Bloom reasoned. Both parents started to regret that they ever made such a plan, but they knew they had to do it. Otherwise Aurora might ruin their trip, and that couldn't happen after the Bloom's has spent so much time planning and filling out countless forms. The two parents started packing as they sadly shook their heads.

Gale scampered up his favorite tree that was right in front of his house, and he sat there. He saw Aurora's parents come out of their house lugging a bunch of luggage backs. They stuffed the luggage bags into the car. Where was Aurora, and Nathaniel?

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I know there was not much excitement in this chapter, but I hope to make the second chapter better. It was pretty short, but this is also not a very long story, so short and sweet is better. The picture is what Aurora's room looks like. I wanted to leave you guys hanging on what the ultimate plan is with the kids and the adults. You might have figured it out by the context clues that I left, but otherwise, it's probably pretty obvious. Please leave comments, because I really want to know how I did. Try not to leave any extremely unkind comments, because I'm only 12. I do expect light constructive criticism. Please answer the poll. Thanks for reading!
Should I make another chapter?
Yes.
No.
