When Kahlans parents die, Kahlan gets a magical power, and now she has to hide her secret, but will Kahlan learn to control her power or will her power control her??
Chapter 1
"Aunt Clara please don’t make me go to the dinner with you."
"Kahlan you know your parents wanted you to go "
"But"-
"No buts" she said sternly "Now hurry and get dressed, or we’ll be late." I went into my room and slammed the door, I hated my life. It just wasn’t fair, why did I have to live and they had to die? I was crying in my room for what seemed like forever, wishing that I could just wake up from this nightmare, because it seems like it’s never ending.

Mom where am I?
"Don’t worry sweetie were almost by the water". My mom said
‘Wait mom what? What do you mean? What water? I asked, but before I could press my mom for any further details my dad started accelerating the car.
Dad slow down, Dad slow down… DAD…
That’s when my whole world turned upside down. My parents died in the car crash, and I was thrown into the water. The weird thing was, was that I was alive. The doctors think that I was in the water for at least 30 minutes, but I wasn’t I think I was there for 5 days. Yah I know what you’re probably thinking that I’m crazy, but it’s true I did, and I don’t know how, but I didn’t feel like the water was trying to kill me, I think it helped me. I felt like the water was a part of me, I felt like I belonged there. Then after what seemed like forever there was a man that saved me, he was so handsome, and as he got closer to me I saw his beautiful sea green eyes and smiled, but then when he touched me I blacked out.
I thought that the weirdest part was over, but when I was at the hospital my head started hurting, it’s like someone was punching me. I started screaming, and that’s when it happened. My IV exploded. I thought I would get wet, but I didn’t, that’s when I saw it, I saw the water move. Then when the nurse came in the water dropped all over the floor, and that’s when I noticed it I’m connected to the water. Since then I’ve tried to learn to control the water, but I can’t control the it or the headaches they just come and go randomly, but I have to make sure not to be seen, or next thing I know I’ll be in a science lab, being experimented on; like some animal.
Now I’m living with my Aunt Clara, and thank god I have her. I love my aunt; she’s been with me in the hospital all the time making sure that I’m okay. Except now she’s driving me nuts. My parents and I were supposed to go to visit some people named the Petersons. They invited us over for dinner, and my aunt Clara’s making me go. I’m just going to make my aunt happy; I just want to get this thing over with.
As I came down the staircase I saw my aunt staring at me which was sort of weird.
"So can we go" I said.
"Yes Kahlan but before we do we should talk" she motioned me to sit on the couch
I looked at her a little worriedly saying "was up? Is everything ok?"
"Yes everything’s fine; I just wanted to talk to you about the dinner"
"What about the dinner" I asked feeling a little scared
"Well I just need you to know that whatever happens I love you.
"Ummm... well... ok... I guess I love you too"
"Well let’s go" Aunt Clara said
"Aunt Clara please don’t make me go to the dinner with you."
