That's All I Ever Wanted
I'm tired of people telling me that I'm not the way I used to be. People change, get over it.
I can't believe it,
You say I've changed,
What can I say?
I guess I have.
I also grew up,
And took on responsibility for my actions.
I'm woman enough to admit my problems and changes,
Why can't you?
You know you're wrong,
Just admit it.
Do that one thing for me.
I'm proud of who I became,
Why can't you?
I'm ready to start over,
With or without you.
Why should I live up to your expectations,
When I can't live up to my own?
Why can't you just expect me?
That's all I ever wanted.
You say I've changed,
What can I say?
I guess I have.
I also grew up,
And took on responsibility for my actions.
I'm woman enough to admit my problems and changes,
Why can't you?
You know you're wrong,
Just admit it.
Do that one thing for me.
I'm proud of who I became,
Why can't you?
I'm ready to start over,
With or without you.
Why should I live up to your expectations,
When I can't live up to my own?
Why can't you just expect me?
That's all I ever wanted.
