Those 4 Letters
You read about it in books
You hear about it in music
You see it in movies
But you can't touch it
For it is as transparent as air

It's scary to think,
That 4 letters combined,
Could create such a powerful word.
To speak such a word,
Would unleash a majestic spell on one's self
Whether it be a gift or burden

Lies in the eyes of the bewitched
Who would have thought
Such a beautiful, innocent, powerful word
Could also be toxic poison
Spoiling every good feeling within
The very myths of it temp us like sheep

Making us so gullible and desperate
But should "we are only human" be the excuse to fallow such temptation
It's true we long for attention
But in the process, we chance leaving ourselves open
Open to hurt, pain, and betrayal
Which brings us to, is it real or just what happens in fairy tales

A question some may wonder for years
But the truth is, love isn't always going to be perfect
The world is an imperfect place
And we must learn to take the bad with the good
Because in the long run,
