Thanksgiving Craft Ideas for Kids
Thanksgiving crafts are the best way for kids to spend some time in creative activities, which will not only keep them engaged, but also help their parents in decorating the house. Here are some interesting thanksgiving craft ideas for kids.

#1: Pilgrim Hat
Material Required:
- Paper grocery bags
- Pair of scissors
- White paint
- White ties cut from material
- First cut the bottom of the grocery bag so that it is about 8" high.
- Cut one of the short sides out. i.e. the side having folds in it.
- Now fold back the edges of the side that you just cut about two inches.
- Repeat this twice.
- Now paint the hat white.
- Staple or glue on some ties.
- You can also tie a white scarf on the pilgrim, if you're lagging behind time.
#2: Candle Rings
Material Required:
- Folding wire
- Decorative candle
- Green color floral tape
- Fall themed floral picks purchased
- Pair of scissors
- Take a piece of wire and shape it into a circle that will fit well into the base of the candle.
- Wrap the wire in the green floral tape.
- There are various ideas that the kids can use to decorate their own crafts, so let them choose from a variety of fall-themed floral picks that can be purchased from the shop. These include fake leaves, berries, twigs, etc. These floral picks look fabulous on the wrapped wire locking their ends around the ring.
#3: Glitter Pumpkins
Material Required:
- Miniature pumpkin or gourd
- White paint or spray adhesive
- Glitter colors like deep purple, silver or brown
- Organza ribbon for decoration
- Take a miniature pumpkin or gourd and brush it with white paint or spray a adhesive on it.
- Now roll the pumpkins in the glitter.
- Tie a thin organza ribbon around the stem to give a sparkling and awesome getup.
#4: Pinecone Turkey
Material Required:
- Pinecone
- Paper plate
- Glue
- Markers
- Crayons
- Glitter
- Construction paper fall colors
- Glue the pinecone and place it on the center of the paper plate.
- Cut along colorful feathers from the construction paper and paste it to the back of the pinecone.
- Now cut out the head of the construction paper and paste it to the front of the pinecone. You can either draw the eyes or use craft eyes.
- Add a glittering look by sprinkling some glitter to the pinecone with the help of the glue.
#5: Apple Turkey
Material Required:
- Apples
- Toothpicks
- Marshmallows
- Raisins
- 1 candy corn
- Wash the apple and pat it dry.
- Now place the apple on its side and insert 5 toothpicks into the apple as if it resembles a fan.
- Put a mini marshmallow on the end of each toothpick. This will resemble your turkey's feathers.
- Now put some more toothpicks in front of the other toothpicks and place a large marshmallow on this toothpick. This will cover your turkey's head.
- Place 2 raisins on a toothpick and place this toothpick into the turkey's head to get a feel of the turkey's eyes.
- Use the candy corn for the nose and push the corn into the marshmallow using the pointed end.
#6: Corn Collage
Material Required:
- Yellow and green construction paper
- Pair of scissors
- Glue
- Yellow and purple tissue paper
- First cut a basic corn shape out of the yellow construction paper.
- Tear little pieces of yellow and purple tissue paper.
- Now crumble the tissue papers into little balls.
- Glue the little balls on the corn shape that will represent the kernels of the corn.
- Take the green construction paper and cut leaf shapes out of it.
- Paste these leaf shapes behind the ear of the corn with the glue.
Kids will lose track of time while these activities are still at hand, they will go at it with a zeal that will only keep you amazed. Of course all that activity is going to drain them out, so it would do you good to treat them with a few tasty thanksgiving recipes as their reward for the effort that they've put in to make this day just that memorable.
