Thank God I'm Alive

Thank god I'm alive. I live everyday here in fear. I'm a soldier given a gift. But if the gift is to take life's is it a gift or a threat? I kill the right people. But what is the right people? The enemy? The enemy is not an enemy it is a human being fighting for the same reasons you are. Thank god I'm alive to see my little girl. Thank god I'm alive to see my wife. I wake up everyday and think "Thank God I'm Alive." Everyday is a god given gift. I could go out into battle and not come back. I could wake up one day and be in heaven. maybe even hell. I miss my family, I miss my friends, I miss the feeling a freedom. I miss the scent of her, sweet jasmine. I miss her loving words and I miss my little girl. She's only 2. You know what her first words were? Dada. She could have said Mama. No, it was Dada. Me. Thank god I'm alive. I miss waking up to her. I even hate not waking up to my little angel crying. What I would give to see them again. I'm a soldier in war but Thank God I'm Alive.
