While typing out a message on the Apple iphone, all the basic symbols are available at a single click. If you want more "emoticons", then there are many applications available online that you can download and install on your Iphone to get more "emoticons". Once you install such an application you get hundreds of text symbols, smiles, stars etc. But make sure you download these apps only from authorized websites or portals. Do not download any apps from any P2P sites as half the files on these sites are infected with viruses.
