Terrace: Like Under the Lake
There is a last breath of summer and all of us wants to take as much as he can of it. If there is no time to have a holiday nearby the lake we can spend some time in our own garden and our own private lake. How can you do it for yourself?
It's not so hard to make a small lake (a pond I guess) near the terrace in our own garden. Usually we are doing such things to make a garden more beautiful place. But why not doing it for ourselves to change our feeling in our own garden?
If we have a small pond already made and it is far away from a place that we can seat and look at it in peace it's a good idea will be building a platform there. It won't take a lot of time but having such terrace will be priceless. There are different kinds of bridges that we can make in our garden to connect our summerhouse (maybe corner) and the rest of the garden.
Material that will be the best to make stable terrace is wood. More preferable is wood from a strong tree like oaks or some exotic trees. Generally wood looks good in a part green part water surrounding. And what's most important it's also strong. Parts that are under the water can't be harden by chemical substances and that's why they should be tough, other elements might be made of different kind of wood.
If we want to have a smaller bridge we can make it from the stones. The only thing that we have to remember about is that the stones must be the same size and that kind of bridge can't be made on the deeper water then half of meter. If we do different way our bridge will be unstable and there will be more possible that we will fall into the water.
We can also build a kind of swimming bridge. The only thing that we have to do in this case is to put the containers under the water that are connect with the bridge. Thanks to them we will be certain that the bridge won't go down when we put garden furniture on it or few people will be going there in one time. Most important in this case is to decide how big and how many containers do we need.
The last type of bridge is hanging one. When making such bridge we have to be sure that it is connected with the ground very tight. But it can't be made directly – the small bridge can easily fall. Rather that we should put a log into the water and after that connect it with our hanging bridge. All the parts we can connect by a screw-propeller.
The most important ideas of making a small bridge is to connect our garden buildings (gazebo, summerhouse), especially when situated in the corner, with rest of the garden. It will give us also a possibility to observe the life in the pond. It might be our last moments of summer in the garden. Let it be unique and valuable.L
