Tell Me The Truth and I'll Let You Go
Rory is made to do something she's been dreading for the past two years. She has to put up with the guy that broke her heart. Only this time she is adamant on keeping a distance between her and him. But its hard to forget the reason why she opened herself to him to begin with.
"I'm not getting what the big deal is." I stopped, stared and continued packing. My hands fumbled numbly for my clothes. All feeling had left me about an hour ago when I was notified of the trip. Pulling out a pair of old pajamas, I tugged on them and stuffed them in the blue bag that was slowly filling up. "Those are not cute." She informed me.
Once more I stopped and this time collapses on the bed next to Lily. "I know. I don't want to be cute. Not there." With a sigh I rolled over and looked up at her. She smiled sympathetically and placed her palm on my forehead.
"Rore, it'll always hurt if you don't do anything about it."
With a whimper she laughed and fell down on the bed alongside me. "I was doing just fine until now." Staring at my ceiling, I couldn't help notice the lie I had just told. I wanted to believe it to be true, but it couldn't have been further.
"So that's why you refuse to go on more than three dates with every guy that takes an interest in you?" Her tone was mockingly sarcastic. A smile crept up on me and I sat up.
"I do not plan on looking cute." She nodded, picked up an empty duffel bag and moved over to my wardrobe. "Or available." She nodded to attention once more and opened the doors to reveal my clothing range. "Or interested."
"Right." She replied shortly and began to remove things from the closet. I couldn't see what she was doing but she seemed to be making a bag of her own.
"Or even attractive."
Holding up one of my more revealing tops, she twisted it around before me. "Too slutty?" She asked and I nodded my head remembering the only night that I had worn it. A no repeat.
"Are you coming too?" I chortled as she continued over to my underwear drawer and pull out garments and fill up the bag.
She looked at me over her shoulder and gave her award-winning smile. "Honey, this is for when you realize that you're talking crazy." At that precise moment she pulled out one of my more feminine bras and gave a wink before pushing it into the bag.
"It's not going to happen." I insisted.
"Just in case." She muttered softly and carried on extracting the underwear from my drawer.
"It's not going to happen." I whispered to myself.
