Team building activities are meant to promote teamwork and team spirit. If you're looking for a few of these activities for college students, you'll find them in the article below!
When a number of people come together for an event or course, teams are automatically formed. Even if all of them are strangers to each other, people manage to find at least two people who are a bit like them. The whole group is divided into sub-groups and they remain intact till the end. This happens especially in college, college students make their groups and then the whole group rivalry thing starts, this is obviously not a favorable thing for the institution. However this can be avoided by conducting team building activities that can bond them together and bring people of opposite nature together. These activities also work as icebreakers, which help to get rid of the initial awkwardness that is always present when many people gather at one place. I am sure you must be wondering what are some good activities for students, so without wasting much time, let's take a look at them.

Team Building Ideas for College Students

Team Building Bingo: This is an interesting team building activity for students. All you need for this team building activity is bingo cards prepared in advance. If you have a small number of group, ask every member his hobbies and other details like birthday, likes and dislikes, etc. If you have a large group, make common categories like hobbies, birthday, likes and dislikes and then fill in the information with the help of the information the students must have submitted while registering for the course. Distribute these cards among the members and tell to them to make a group of three, out of which two members have at least three (or more) common interests and the third one has completely opposite interests to them. They have to complete this task in a specific time limit.

Directions: Divide the students in equal groups and appoint one leader from each group. Except the team leader, all other members of the group will be blindfolded, they have to cross a obstacle course. It will be the duty of the group leader and group members to guide each other, group members have to cooperate with each other to understand the directions. The team which crosses the obstacle course and reaches the destination first, wins. However every member of the group should have successfully crossed the obstacles, only if all the members have crossed the obstacle course, only then the team wins.

Thinking Activity: You will need a board for this activity. Divide the participants in two equal groups. The group has to stand in a line, ask the first person in the line to come forward and only then explain the rules. What the groups are supposed to do is, one by one each member of both the groups has to go ahead and write any word on the board. The other members have to stand ten feet away from him. When he finishes the word, he has to run to the line, hand over the marker or chalk to the next member and stand last in the line. The first team which succeeds in making a meaningful sentence out of those words first, wins.

Stressful Game: This is one of the best game for teaching the students to deal with stressful situations. Divide participants in two groups with equal number of participants. Each team has to be given one ball, all the members have to do is throw the ball to their partner. Sounds simple? Well, the number of balls has to be increased after a certain amount of time. If the ball falls down even once, the team loses. The students have to pay attention to see which ball is being passed where.

Do try each of the above mentioned activities. You can also add your creativity to the above mentioned ideas to come up with some more activities.
