Taste Of The Sea

Poisodus is the daughter of Poisoden. The ruler of the Sea. Yet, she has no idea! The Creature who has always watched from afar has no choice but to bring her home.... Welcome and please have a taste of the sea... *Thanks for reading all my story's!* Much More To Come
It's a vast amount of beautiful water The water flows up on land and feels cool and tastes salty. When the sun or moon shines on it is so amazing with the reflection of colors from the sky. It's peaceful with the soft sounds of splashing and wind roaming over the sand . It's the home of fish and dolphins and whales and many other mystical sea creatures. It's fun to swim or play in, to come and relax in, most of all, it's magical.

That's exactly why I chose this job.. Poisodus thought.
The day was like any other and Poisodus was on duty for the life guard shift till the beach closed.

The sun was glaring down on the beach forcing the people to swim to cool down. Kids,Parents, and Elderly people visit the beach everyday either to swim ,relax or workout. My job is to stay alert for any trouble in the water and make sure the citizens of the beach stay safe. Which today is extra hard seeing that the other lifeguard is homesick..

She scanned the water again for any signs of aggressive sea creatures but came back with just a school of dolphins jumping in and out of the waves that started to pick up. Her Raven black hair was in a long braid down her spine and her black Raphael glasses shielded her aqua blue eyes. She sighed as she looked down at her pale skin.. I'm at this beach 18 hours a day and I never get burned nor tanned.. It's a shame..

The wind started up and Poisodus scanned the sea for any trouble again. Something in the water caught her eye. Swimming in shark territory was 4 teenage boys they all looked to be 15. She grabbed her whistle and pointed at them to swim back in closer to shore. When they ignored her she huffed in frustration and grabbed her surfboard.

She scanned the sea once more before running into the water surfboard in hand. When she was in earshot she yelled to them "Come in closer boys or the sharks will make a play toy out of ya!" They looked alarmed and them obeyed and started to swim back. Suddenly a huge wave came over the trio and they all went under.. 1 head bobbed back.. 2....3...where's 4? "Grab the board boys keep it still I'm going under." Being a life guard for most of her 23-year-old life she was used to the sting of the ocean water on her eyes. It didn't sting anymore though and she could spot the boy shooting to the surface from under the water.

She scanned the water for sea creatures and upon spotting a school of fish shooting their way she knew what was coming... a bull shark... She surfaced and saw that the boys were in the safe zone. unlike her.. she started to thrust her way to the shore but then saw a sand bar not to far behind her and decided it best to stand up there for a few seconds to catch her breath and find a better way to get to shore.

Ok, so I can't radio for help.... I can't swim either..The sound of a dolphin got her attention it was circling the small patch of sand. "Ee..Ee..Ee" What does it want?..

Suddenly as if she could hear the dolphin speak she jumped into the water and grabbed the dolphins fin. She was then propelled towards the shore while a pod of dolphins acted like body-guards towards her. When the dolphin couldn't go any farther towards shore she swam the rest of the way.

When she was on the sand people starting to cheer. "It wasn't anything big really." Poisodus blushed. A mother with a beer gut and orange hair stepped up to her and said. "You just got helped by a dolphin that's something BIG!" In a southern drawl. Suddenly there was a crowd around her and she finally waved them all off and went back up to her post.

The sun dried her skin and she grabbed her ice-cold Gatorade from the small cooler next to her. The hours went by and within that time she treated a jellyfish sting or two and had to go in and pull some people in from the danger zone. The sun started to set and 1 by 1 family's and loners started to leave. Poisodus usually stayed until everyone left and then took a last-minute swim even in the dark.

The last of people left around 8:30 when the sun started to set and the moon started to rise. She knew that teenagers loved to come to the beach at night so she peeled herself away from her post and put her feet in the water then slowly lowered herself all the way in. The water was cool and it whispered over her illuminated skin. She back-stroked for a while then slowly swam to the shore. She grabbed her bag and started up the beach..

The creature watched the daughter of Poisoden make her way away from the sea with a noise of distaste. How she can live out of water is a wonder to me..But you can tell she is drawn to the sea and its citizens. The dolphins and sharks showed interest in her today. She thought the shark wanted to eat the boys but it was really a ploy to see her up close. The fish also welcome her when she enters her rightful domain.. I must tell Poisoden that his daughter is of age to marry and tell her to be ready the next time she enters the water. The creature made his way back to Atlantis his home and the home of many other sea creatures. The words whispered over the sea like a lullaby. "Come Now Daughter Of Poisoden To Your Rightful Home....."
