Taste of the Sea (Last Chapter)
(The End) I really wanted to continue this story but I find that I have more ideas for different stories. I hope this satisfies as an ending of the story!
"Can I see her now?" Posidous lay on the bed seething with impatience.
Andrea smirked."Sure. Bring me our Melody." Andrea walked to the entrance of the room and tenderly removed their daughter from the maid's arms.
"Thank You." He smiled at melody as she tried to reach for his face. "Mommy wanted to see her bundle of sunshine. Here say hi to mommy Melody."
Posidous could barely control her anticipation when she held Melody. She looked into her astonishingly sea green eyes. "She's beautiful Andrea."
She had black hair and the palest skin that seemed to shine. "She is our daughter."
Posidous summoned up some of her lingering vigor and crafted a sapphire coral necklace.
Andrea frowned as he saw Posidous grow more and more groggy. "Posidous you're still weak. You're in no position to use any sort of magic."
Posidous smiled on as she put the necklace around her daughter's neckline. "I would give anything for her and this necklace is for protection. If anyone makes her troubled the necklace will convey her emotions to me."
She began to cry and Posidous gestured for the maids to leave and the guards were dismissed.
She lowered her shirt and began to breast feed. Andrea smiled and lay in bed next to her looking at their daughter.
"She's finally safe Posidous."
Seven years later.....
"Melody? Where is she at? You there, where is my daughter?"
Andrea tapped his foot on the tile waiting impatiently for an answer. The guard informed him that Melody didn't pass this way and he grew more anxious. Where is the little squirt.
"Papa.. Papa!" Andrea scarcely caught her as she flung herself into his arms.
"What is my baby doing sneaking around the palace?" That's when Posidous walked around the corner in a full length cherry and cobalt evening dress. In her words it was ok in his words she was marvelous.
"We were just in the sea meadow darling." Andrea smiled and readjusted Melody so he could give his striking wife a kiss.
"Just in the sea meadow darling tell me before you leave please." Posidous could hear the anxiety in his voice and rubbed his back soothingly.
"Sorry darling I'll do that next time."
"Can we go see Grandpa Today mommy?" Andrea and Posidous exchanged a look and then nodded their heads yes.
Andrea and Posidous swam hand in hand towards the undersea building. Melody swam not too far ahead and was the first to enter the doors. Next entered the body guards and the two parents.
"Isn't he this way?"
Posidous took a deep breath and nodded. Melody ran into the room and keeled before his grave. It was a statue of him higher than the ceiling. Posidous smiled at the trident in her hand as it remembered its old owner. It glowed a bright gold until it finally shimmered down and turned to a light glow.
"In loving memory of our most glorious ruler now deceased but never forgotten. Poseidon the ruler of the sea in which he was born is unknown but in his death we shall not write down for he is still alive in every one of our hearts."
"Come on Melody say goodbye to your grandpa."
"Bye grandpa! I miss you!" She kissed the stone and Posidous looked into the eyes of the statue. She walked up to him and touched the tip of the trident to the stone. "We miss you dad I hope you and mom are having fun up there."
She felt their intense joy and sorrow of not being able to come back and enjoy life together for once.
"I love you. We all love you and don't worry you're not forgotten."
Posidous kissed the stone and turned to leave. Both rulers of the sea and mother to an astounding child. Married to the most remarkable man she walked towards Atlantis ready to take the sea by her hands.
