Tarot Reading

This article briefly introduces you to a particular Tarot spread called ‘The Tree of Life’ and this spread summarises the sitter’s whole lifetime to the present day. The two decks used for this Tarot reading are ‘The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck’ or ‘Thoth Tarot Deck’ and these are the two most commonly used decks in a Tarot reading. To perform the reading you ask the sitter to focus their energy on the cards and shuffle the deck. As they are shuffling the cards their whole life up to the present is swept up into the cards and any hopes, dreams and fears about the future with this.

Here is an example of a Tarot reading with ‘The Tree of Life’ spread with a lady called Caroline who has given her permission for the reading to be published. This is a condensed version of the reading to show you what sort of information can be gleaned from this kind of Tarot reading.

First Triangle (cards 1,2 and 3) representing the spiritual self in the Tarot reading. This person has the reversed 2 of pentacles which would indicate that they were born into poverty. There was a great deal of turbulence around her mother when she was born. The other cards revealed that there was some foreign link to Caroline’s father and much conflict between the mother and father at the time of her birth. These cards represent the spiritual self and taking all these cards together would indicate that Caroline had a very bad start in life. The cards also indicate that there is an inner spirit that will bring great strength to Caroline and her outlook on the future looks good. Despite her humbled and troubled beginnings she has the ability to focus on the bigger picture in life.

Second Triangle (cards 4,5 and 6) represents the masculine influences in her life and these cards indicate that Caroline suffered some loss around her father. He left her at a very early age and this meant that there were financial and emotional difficulties during the early part of her childhood. There were difficulties in her relationships with others and much inner conflict. All of these cards were reversed indicating that there was a reversal of circumstances which could have been prosperous and harmonious.

Third Triangle (cards 7, 8, and 9) represents feminine influences in her life and these cards indicate that Caroline grew up without a stable mother figure in her life. In the absence of her mother Caroline turned to spirituality to get her through life’s difficulties, it was her belief that got her through life. Caroline was bought up by various female influences and she suffered greatly as a result of not having one stable mother figure in her life. Caroline created her own mother and father in her mind and these became her spiritual focus for her future development.

Card 10 represents the Physical self and earthly home in the Tarot reading and this was a great way to sum up Caroline’s life. It was the Queen of Pentacles which represents material success, emotional success, leadership and an abundance of all that had been missing in her life.

It is very likely that Caroline will become a successful businesswoman in the future and will attract a great deal of wealth. Caroline will not only advance her own ambitions but she will have the ability to motivate those around her. Caroline will have an appreciation of life and live her life to the fullest to make the most of every opportunity presented to her.
