Reid has said that the past two years have been very tough on her and her family due to all the negative publicity. Reid said she originally got implants because her breasts were "uneven." She claims the surgery was a "disaster from the very start." Reid said she wanted "big Bs"[B cups] but that the doctor gave her C cups and she said she didn't want them at all. She said she had some bumps along her nipples and the doctor told her not to worry, and that it would get better. Reid said that after six months it started getting worse. She also said she had "body contouring, but it all went wrong. My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing."
Reid's body image became worse after she was photographed when her dress slipped down at a party two years ago. Said Reid, "I was on the Web sites as having the ugliest boob job in the world." Reid recently had reconstructive surgery and said, "I'll never be perfect again, but I've got my self-confidence back." She also feels as if she has been portrayed unfairly in the media. Said Reid, "I think I'm just so misunderstood as a person...It's like every time you see me out they'll only show a picture of me, like, with a cup in my hand. They won't show all the benefits I'm involved in with children. They never show anything positive."
She feels that since coming forward and talking about her "botched" plastic surgery has caused the press has taken a step back. She said, "They forget that I'm someone's sister and I'm someone's daughter. It hurts their feelings. My mom, it breaks her heart. I'm her daughter...she wants to go out and kill them." Reid said, "Coming clean (about plastic surgery) and getting myself fixed, I feel like it's the end of the storm and I'm starting to see a rainbow."
