Tankless Water Heaters: A Great Buy?

If you're interested in going green, looking into tankless water heaters is a great way to save money and do you part for the environment.
Want a great way to save money? Well who doesn't, especially with the economy as bad as it is? Try switching to a tankless water heater. This is a change that many people have made and one that will save on water and electricity bills.

When you use a regular water heater, the water is constantly heated, which costs a lot of money. But a tankless will only heat up the water when you need it. With that knowledge alone you can see how the money can be saved.

A great way to look at this is waiting for a shower to heat up. When you turn on the water and you have a regular water heater you will have to wait several minutes before the water is warm that comes out. However as soon as you turn the water on with a tankless water heater you can step into the warm water. There are two types of tankless water heaters a gas and electric, both have great benefits to them.

Hot water is delivered to you constantly, and you don't have to wait for a water heater to fill up again after all the stored up hot water has been used. This is great if you have a larger family and have several people who take showers. Plus some of these tankless water heaters will also allow you to run several different appliances at once and still not have a lack of hot water.

An average tankless water heater will heat up two to five gallons of water per minute. The gas tankless water heaters will supply a bit larger flow of water over the electric models though. Depending on what size of tankless water heater you have bought will depend on how many different things you can run at once.

To figure out the savings that a tankless water heater can save you, we will compare a household that uses at least 41 gallons of water a day. This is very easy to do, because you have to take into consideration every time you turn the water on. If you have a tankless water heater you will save anywhere from 24 to 34% energy. Though if you use more water the savings in energy will go down a bit more, but still it's a nice 14%, which adds up to money you have saved.

When looking into tankless water heaters you should decide on what type of fuel you are going to use. As stated above they come in either gas or electric. This is a personal decision, but again keep in mind that the gas one's will provide a higher flow.

With an electric tankless water heater you have many different volts they operate on. But you should not try and install one of these yourself, hire a professional. This will ensure that you have a proper working tankless water heater that will save you money.

As far as the size of your tankless water heater, you should measure the area you want to place the heater. Try another way to save some money, look into tankless water heaters today!
