Tangible Love, Ch.3

Ericka goes to see her therapist... and gets a little surprise.
So, a couple of you wanted to have more from this story... well, i forgot a little bit about where I wanted to take the story, so I'm kinda winging it right now. I would love advice and new ideas and tons of feedback... please. even bad things help (politely.)

I ran to the building which housed Nancie's office. I've been there so often I probably could've arrived with my eyes closed. Being the overly confident person I am, by nature, it didn't take me long to become more comfortable with the people working here, than most of the other people in my life. Walking up to the front desk, I say hello to Sherly, the receptionist.

"Why hello Ericka dear, what can I do for you today?" Her voice is high pitched and buggs the hell out of me.
"Does Nancie have somebody in her office right now?" I don't really like to beat around the bush with small talk. I mean, I am here for an obvious purpose, why else would you go see a shrink?
"Well, you don't have an appointment, and you know the rules.." She sounds legitimately sorry.
"That's fine, I'll just go see her anyway." I turn and leave before Sherly could say another word.

"Yo Nanc, what's up?" I love the look on her face when I say things like this.
"first of all, don't address me with yo, it's hello. Second, my name is Nancie, not Nanc. Thirdly, what? you didn't have time to stop and get us some coffee?" This is why I love her, she can dish it like she can take it.

"Isn't it a little late in the day for you to be drinking caffeine? You must be getting old." She gives me a scoul. Nancie hates it when i bring up her age.
"Well, your here for a reason, so dish..." Another reason I love her, not too much small talk.

"This kid at school today decided he knew more about me than he really did. I got defensive, and angry. I didn't get physical, but I really wanted to. He told me that the way I talk, he's surprised that my father's not a sailor. What right did he have to say that? Nobody at that school knows about me, I just with they would leave me alone."

After a very long conversation, I left Nancies office feeling much better.
Walking into the reception area, I hear Nancie call out to me, "next time don't forget the coffee". To which, I responded how I usually do with "I will, as soon as you start to supply the donughts. Then, we can invite police officers here, and have a merry little ball". I smile my cheeziest smile as my words drip with sarcasm.

I turn around and am faced with the most beautiful pair of eyes i have ever seen. I have never seen a color so blue. I realize that I'm stairing and turn my head down... slowly walking out of the office.
