Taking the Next Step to Realistic Goals
Whether you're career planning in ballet shoes and pointe shoes, wrestling with the Law of Attraction, fighting cancer by practising smarter wellness, or contemplating on how to save the world, are you setting realistic goals? How will you succeed at taking the next step to a result?
When it comes to visualization, and practicing the Law of Attraction, sometimes there is a wisdom in doing less. If you're experiencing a mental effort, or a strong decision like "I've GOT to do this more", or a worry like "I'm not doing this enough", then you are doing too much.
You are a ballet student who has read about the Law of Attraction. Or you have a teacher who talks about visualization, (I had one, Angela Leigh), It doesn't do much good to imagine yourself in someone else's long-legged, highly arched feet, long neck, short waist, etc., etc.,- body, when you're looking at something quite different in the mirror. The leap is too big, the contrast too great. So what is the next realistic goal in a perfectionist art?
Your "lack" is financial, you have a full-time job and one part-time job and you sit at the computer every night studying an on line business to save you from all of this. You suppress a haunting thought that this might not work out. Maybe you should just get another job. The internet millionaires are years ahead of you in technical skills and marketing experience. And if you don't have more money and more time how will you ever help save the world in some way?
What about finding an internet money-making system that you don't have to pay for and where you don't have to do all the work yourself?
If you're fighting a difficult disease, take all the advice you get from your doctor, and do a little more - find the stories of those who have triumphed, learn what they did - research more and discover what might work better for you. Practise smarter wellness in any way you can, explore for a new 'next step'.
John Crenshaw wrote an article that grabbed my attention - "Read Goals Everyday". It's on his blog at http://floatlikearock.com/read-goalseveryday. He talks about training the subconscious mind, and having a reminder every day, of that goal.
Sometimes when I come home tired, and a little anxious. I demand a lot from myself and that is not always good. My conscious mind just loves to argue with my training routines for my subconscious.
A realistic goal then, could be "what more can I actually do today?" Can I get my leg up one more millimeter in arabesque? Can I do a triple pirouette one time, instead of that last double?
Can I work another hour, or not spend money I don't need to spend? Or are there smarter ways to spend where I can get a better return on my every day expenses?
If I come home tired, can I just write an introduction to another article so that I can start it easily tomorrow?
Gage what step you can actually TAKE. Once you've done that, it creates energy and you might do more even though you didn't plan to.
On outcomes, visualize or feel, the quality of the situation you would like to manifest. The emotional, tactile, soulful qualities. Someone else's approval of your pointe work, how long it took, or how you got better, or the efforts to earning your wealth won't matter, if you get those qualities.
