Taking great pictures of your kids for your Digital Photo Frame
Tips for parents taking pictures of their kids to display in their Digital Photo Frame so all will enjoy viewing.
Often parents randomly snap a picture of their child when they are doing something cute and pay little attention to what else is in the picture, where the sun is located or the settings on their camera. The result can be a photo that you may not want to display on your Digital Photo Frame. A few quick steps and result in a quality photo you will be proud to display.
Positioning for lighting on outdoor & indoor shots
If you are anticipating a perfect photo moment, outside, then position yourself so that the sun is behind you. Check your subject to ensure there are not going to be unwanted shadows from your vantage point. Keep the camera ready and close by to capture your little darling(s) doing something adorable.
If you are inside, then attempt to utilize as much natural light as possible, but if that provides a challenge then ensure your flash is on. You can, for instance use the natural light from a window on one side of the face and a flash to eliminate the shade on the other side of a profile shot.
Composition
All too often we see a cute kid doing something just adorable in the kitchen with dirty dishes in the background, or in the living room with shoes, books, camera case, and other clutter in the photo. Move the clutter or move the subject. A cluttered picture does not have eye appeal. When you look through your lens, view everything you will capture and remove anything that you would not want in your composition.
Zoom
Frequently, people take pictures from such a distance that you can’t tell who is in the photo. The face is probably the most important part of a photo of your child. You want to see their smile when you look at the picture later on the Digital Photo Frame, assuming you use a Digital Camera. Zoom in on your subject, and don’t be afraid of zooming too far. You can eliminate a lot of that clutter I referred to above when you are focused on only your subject in the frame. It’s even fashionable to cut off part of a face if it’s done well and doesn’t look like a mistake. Practice with that technique if it appeals to you.
Your family photos will look much better if you choose your lighting well, pay attention to what else is being captured in the background of your photo and work with your zoom to get closer shots with less background and more of your little darling! Happy Picture Taking!
