Taken... [Part 9]

FINALLY!!! who will Alexis choose? Nathan or her beloved Jayden? Please comment!
Hey guys, so sorry it took forever! forgive me! anyway, I really hope that the wait was somewhat worth it! so let me know what you think... here goes...

Jayden had been trying to find information everywhere about what Nathan was or anything about the ‘so-called’ immortals’. He came up with dead ends wherever he looked. He was already starting to doubt what Alexis’ brother, Tyler had told him.

It was unrealistic, supernatural things didn’t exist. And if this Nathan character did, Alexis would have told him about it. He was sure of it. He just couldn’t figure out why he had a constant nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach.

He felt hopeless, pathetic and out of luck. He felt like giving up, but knew that if he gave up on this then it would also mean that he was giving up on Alexis and what they had together or what they could have, if he found her.

His phone rang, looking at it, he saw that it was his mother, surprised, he answered the call. ‘Hey mom.’

‘Hello, Jay, how are you holding up, did you get any news yet? You find any leads that could help you find Alexis?’ He could hear her concern and sympathy in her voice, but it didn’t help this time.

‘No, mom. I found nothing that could help. Everything leads me to nowhere, I’m thinking of just giving up. But there is this one thing.’

‘What is it? Tell me.’ She sounded eager and excited to hear what he had to say.

‘Tyler told me something, he heard his family talking about it, but even I’m starting to doubt it. Apparently Alexis knew the person who had taken her, she used to date him and… erh, he’s supposedly part of something called the immortals.’ He finished, feeling foolish for telling his sane mother such childish nonsense.

There was just silence on the other end of the line.

‘Mom? Are you still there?’ he questioned, but in vain, as he hears his mother’s end of the line go dead and be replaced with a dial tone.

Jayden tried to phone his mother back, but with no luck. Just another thing to add to his already long list of troubles, he thought bitterly. He already knew, without having to be told, that his mother knew what was going on, not that it bothered him anymore, he was already too used to it. Everybody knew. Everyone besides him. And Tyler.

Just then, he felt his phone vibrate. It was a message. He read it, it was from his mother telling him to meet her first thing in the morning. That was it. Nothing more. He didn’t bother replying, knowing that both he and his mother knew that he would be meeting her in the morning.

~*~*~*~*~*
Jayden met his mother at the arranged place and time the next morning. When he saw his mother, he noticed that she looked a wreck, as if she didn’t sleep or get any rest the night before. He walked over to her and sat down.

‘Mom, are you okay? You don’t look well.’

‘I’m fine, Jayden, don’t worry about me. There are more important things that you need to worry about.’ She replied, handing him an envelope.

He took it, and then asked, ‘What is this? And why did I have to meet you here instead of at home? Please just tell me what’s going on.’

‘Believe me; you’re going to find out everything on your own. And that,’ She said, pointing to the envelope, ‘Is something of Alexis’. She had been writing it… it’s something about her past. I have to go now, son, but I’ll see you soon.’ She hugged him.

Jayden was speechless; he had hugged his mother goodbye and promised not to tell anyone where he had gotten the information.
