Take You Home

True love will always conquer, even in the face of death.
Restless heart, your beatings slowing down,
You're near your journey's end,
The angel welcomes you into the light,
With open wings.
Reflect upon your past and you will know,
If you will be reborn,
Only the pure of heart and soul,
Can know the magic of the dawn,
Where the purest beam of light will take you home.

A haloed judge presides over your trial,
On this your judgment day,
A jury of lost souls will listen in,
They will decide your fate.
The Devil's advocate will make a claim,
Upon your darkest thoughts,
While the angel who's your guardian,
Will defend you in God's court,
To decide who has the right to take you home.

Remember everything you did,
As every little detail's passed,
Among the court officials,
Who see all the skeletons from your past.
Your sordid inhibitions cannot hide,
Among the shadow's gloom,
Every little detail is exposed,
In this golden lighted room,
And the Devil cackles at your fear of going home.

Your guardian whispers into your ear,
Not to be afraid,
You lived a life of moral standards,
The Devil won't win you this day.
But still you fear the retribution,
Of the guilt your anger bring,
The offense you gave to others,
With your own retaliation,
And still you wonder who will win and take you home.

But fear ye not, your fate to come,
That fate lies in another's hands,
She awaits, that you will meet again,
Together in another plain.
Long ago, you gave to her,
Within a pledge, your heart and soul,
She is witness to the purest love,
Her heart has ever know,
And she awaits within the light to take you home.
