Take Me Out To The Ball Game (and Could You Grab Me Some Nachos?)
There seems to be something magical about a good baseball game, the drama, the action and excitement all make up for a great game. Or maybe it is just those baseball nachos that make it worthwhile.
There are some things in life that just make me smile. I tend find that those things that make me smile the most are the simple pleasures in life that just make your day worth while. One of my favorite simple pleasures is curling up with a good book at the end of the long day or another is when I find some money in my jacket that I forgot was there. A more recent discovery of a simple pleasure is going to baseball games with my friends and having nachos. I know that peanuts and cracker jacks are a crowd favorite but it is the nachos that make me smile. I don’t know what it is about baseball nachos but the chips are always just right and the cheese is just hot enough to warm your insides as you swallow. I think it is a combination of being at a baseball game on a warm summer night hanging with your friends and not having a care in the world that makes those nachos extra tasty.
Now, I am not a huge sports fan, I really know nothing with it comes to sports. In fact, many laugh at me because during a game if the other team is losing so poorly I tend to feel bad for them and start cheering them on. I really don’t recommend this since it will result in many dirty looks, a few boos, and unfriendly word thrown your way. Also, if some one gets hurts I feel really bad for that person. Because I personally have an aversion to pain and I am pretty sure that the people on the field that get hurt don’t enjoy pain either, so it always makes me squirm seeing someone get hurt. But, besides the nachos and baseball players, what I do like is the atmosphere of the games. I love to see everyone together cheering for their team, singing along to the cheesy songs that are played over the loud speaker, and hanging out with friends old and new (and of course the nachos). There is nothing better than spending those lazy summer days with friends laughing, telling jokes and making those baseball memories. I may sound like a romantic when talking about baseball, but there is just something about being at a game that is infectious and you have a hard time not enjoying yourself.
Baseball has everything that you need to make a great story. There is drama, comedy, action and love. Again, I cannot sit quote statistics, speak baseball terms and all that, but I do know a good story when I see one. You have the drama of your favorite team coming up from behind to steal a win. The comedy of all those crazy yet sometimes lovable sports fans that are jumping around and the love and bonding that is created as a group of people get together to share and cheer on a common interest. Like I said before I do not know all the inner workings of baseball but I do enjoy a good game and I think that most people are the same way. I also love the stories of those individual players as they struggle to overcome some hardships in their lives to go on and play a great game. To me that is the essence of the human spirit and their story creates an amazing dramatic story that most people will enjoy.
So whether you are just in it for the nachos, cracker jacks or the actual game baseball provides a variety experience and excitement that most people will enjoy.
