Take Five: On Stage - Part 1

Artemisia Larone, more commonly known as 'Art', lived her entire life in the world of motion pictures. Studios and movie sets were more familiar than theme parks and malls and the idea of going to an actual school is somewhat a foreign concept. Read and comment. I'd love to hear your thoughts...
Could a day be any more dark and sinister than this one? I asked myself as I drummed my fingers rhythmically on the old, nearly prehistoric, mahogany desk that I'd practically chained myself to for the past few days. It suited the prop-room, where I now sat dwelling over a few depressing thoughts. I sighed, my eyes resting on a yellow folder with the words Art's revised copy written across it in bold red letters, it probably could be a hundred times more dark and sinister than this one but I was simply trying to make a significant point.

When you're a potential actor, being so labeled because of the scores of talent swirling about in your very core at the tender age of seventeen going on eighteen, but simply can't manage a calm composure in front of a crowd packed to the myriads (or rather, in front of a crowd. Period.), then that in itself is an abomination. And the thought of being a theatrical abomination and being made to start at an actual school all on one day is enough to label that day dark and sinister.

'Dammit, Art!' I made no sudden reaction to hearing an enormously large crash from just outside the prop-room, nor at the realization that someone had just very clearly cursed my name. the door flung open and stepped the someone draped in old cans, clattering loudly as he made his way over a dusty dinosaur head and archaic plastic, Greek swords. 'could you NOT leave this horror of... of whatever it is lying around,' he gestured to the dented cans and string that hung about him. It used to be a hanging sculpture of the Parthenon, now it was just a bunch of Pepsi cans entangling a human being. ' And where is that revised script? It was due three days ago. We can't get anything done onset without a script!'

Meet Charlie Maceroy. The boss, director of five academy award-winning films, and, my brother. Oh yeah, did I happen to mention that my brother being a world famous movie director somewhat added to my being an abomination. Well, half-brother actually. Thank god too. I don't think I have the capacity to own the name Maceroy. Aside from it sounding awfully horrible, it's also the name of one of the biggest and best production companies owned, of course, by the Maceroys.

Allow me to explain.
My name is Artemisia Larone. I am what most people term 'loser', to say the least, and I would rather be a loser than liked solely for my connections. Therefore I do my utmost to not be associated with a name that big. I am talented, that I don't doubt, but still, when you're gripped by fear, there really isn't a chance.
