Sweet Lullaby
A song is missing.
Lully, lullay, lully, lullay...
The sweet sound of the lullaby came to Bella and she began to wake up a small smile on her lips. "Michael..." She whispered his name into the darkness and reached beside her. It was cold and empty. She frowned and grabbed the sheet as it fell below her waist. She let her gaze travel across the empty room before finally accepting he had left. She sighed and wrapped her dirty blonde hair into a messy ponytail. "Well, now that I'm awake might as well get some work done."
She threw on a plain white t-shirt and some black and white checkered shorts before picking up her paints and walking over to the blank paper on the wall. She cringed as she saw the other papers crunched up and thrown into the corner.
"Why can't I find any inspiration?" She had attempted drawing flowers but they didn't really express what she was feeling. Emotion was what made her art so famous. She injected her every emotion may it be sadness or joy into her masterpieces, but this one was becoming challenging. Her emotions were in a chaotic mess and she wasn't sure what she wanted.
"Which explains, why I can't draw for crap." She threw her paints onto the table beside the empty paper and walked into the living room. The music floated into the living room from her room and she laid down on the old weathered couch.
Lully, lullay, lully, lullay...
I need to get this done before my due date. Suddenly the tune switched in the background and Bella sat up. "That's odd... This song was made to play on and on."
My love, leave yourself behind.
The melody was intoxicating and Bella felt as if she was in a daze and she followed it into her room.
My love, you have found peace.
She walked over to where she laid down her paints and brush and began to paint in a sleep like manner. Over thirty minutes passed before she finally set down the brush and the song stopped replaying. She wiped the paint off her hands and stepped back to survey her work. It was a beautiful shade of mainly gray, white and black. It was of herself grabbing onto what looked like her shadow. "Interesting." Bella laid down her brush and walked over to her iPod. She flicked through her playlist but couldn't find the song that had been playing just then. She grew frustrated and turned it on and off several times.
The song was nowhere to be found.
