Causes of Sweaty Feet
Majority of the sufferers of sweaty feet have the genetic makeup for it. The gene responsible for sweaty feet is passed on from generations to generations. If you are someone who has sweaty feet, it might be because your ancestors had the genetic factor for it. Secondly, stress can cause your feet to sweat. This is because, sweating is one of the natural ways followed by your body for cooling itself. When you are tensed up, stressed or anxious, the sweat glands on your feet go into hyper mode. This causes excessive sweating of feet.
If you have a genetic predisposition for sweaty feet, then it should not be a matter of concern. However, if you feel that you have recently developed sweaty feet, it might be a symptom of some sort of medical condition. Some examples of such complications are an overactive thyroid, lymphoma, leukemia, infections, heart diseases, etc. Sweaty feet can be caused by the ill-impacts of some medicines that you are taking. Many women develop sweaty feet as they approach menopause.

Maintain Feet Hygiene
Because of sweating, your feet soles contain water and other end products of metabolism like fat, minerals, sodium chloride, etc. Bacteria act upon them, break them down and releases a foul smell in the process. In order to minimize the smell from your sweaty feet, you need to kill the bacteria growing on the soles of your feet. One of the simplest way of doing it is to wash your feet with a medicated soap. You must wash your feet after playing some sort of sport or doing a strenuous physical activity. Washing is necessary for feet hygiene but you should not over wash your feet. You should always see that frequent washing does not remove the natural oils from your feet. To be on the safe side, wash your feet only twice or thrice a day. You may increase the frequency if the need arises. If you notice that your feet are becoming cracked, flaky or scaly, reduce the frequency of washing.
Keep the Feet Dry
Your feet will tend to sweat more if they are oily most of the time of the day. Therefore, you need to keep your feet dry as long as possible. There are two effective ways of doing it. First of all, apply a layer of talcum powder before wearing socks, shoes, or other foot wears. The powder clogs the skin pores and prevents sweating for some time. It will also reduce the production of foul smell to some extent. Secondly, you can try using salt water solution to make your feet dry. Take half a tub of water, and add 5-6 tablespoons of table salt to it. Mix them well to make a solution. Soak your feet into it for about 5-10 minutes. Wash them with plain water, and apply an oil-free moisturizer.
Let your Feet Breathe
Wear socks and shoes that allows your feet to breathe. Socks are made of different materials such as cotton, wool, acrylic, etc. Find the one inside which you feel your feet the most comfortable. Similarly, wear well-fitted shoes. Rather wear open foot wears like sandals, etc. to let your feet respire. This is a great sweaty feet remedy. Always see that whatever the thing you are going to enter your feet is clean and dry.
Eat Right
Certain foodstuffs aggravate foul-smell from sweating, and thus, hinder sweaty feet cure. Some examples of such foods are garlic, scallions, peppers, onions, etc. The reason behind their aggravating the smell is that they contain certain pigments that are responsible for their strong flavor and aroma. These pigments pass through the bloodstream and eventually concentrate in the sweat.
Apart from the aforementioned ways for sweaty feet cure, you should try your level best to stay calm and distressed. You may take help of stress-relieving techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, medication, etc. However, even after trying all such home remedies you notice negligible or little sweaty feet treatment, you should visit a doctor.
