Surviving Trade Shows In Bad Economic Times
Like all of business today , we are all affected by the turn of bad economic times. Trade shows are no exception to these times. Surviving these times can be difficult, here are some tips
In these bad economic times many trade show exhibitors are deciding to not attending various trade shows or they are having second thoughts and are downsizing their booth size. A great deal exhibitors are now only walking the show floor as oppose to exhibiting, why? Exhibiting cost is extremely high and exhibitors are trying to conserve. Many of these same exhibitors invite some of their regular client and possible new client to meet them in rented suites that are close to the convention to demo new ideas or products.
First of all, not attending the show is possibly the worst thing a company could do, especially if they have been exhibiting there for a few years. Not attending the show at all causes you to lose your seniority which can lead to bad floor location if you decide to re-enter the convention in the future. Reducing your booth size can also be damaging. Let’s say you use to exhibit at this show in a 20×30 booth size now you show up in a10×10 booth space. I would certainly wonder what is going on with this company. Are they doing well? Will they be around next year?
I have seen so much of this in the last few months and the best solution for this is keep on going to the show, keep your booth space, try to reduce your labor and drayage cost. These items will help a great deal on your budget but it will not affect the image of your company. Renting a custom trade show booth instead of purchasing one is your next step. Yes I did say Custom. No sign will be displayed saying that your booth is a rented booth. Try and get a full turnkey package which will also help with your budget. Full turnkey are great because there are no hidden cost. Rental trade show displays keeps you on the show floor and certainly will not minimize your company image.
Larger and more frequent exhibitors are turning to custom rental trade show booth, trashing their old heavy and out dated booth. They are now turning to a full turnkey rental programs which allow them to change configurations from show to show. Some trade show exhibitors have shows that cross each other, this can be a problem if you only have one trade show booth.
Multi rental trade show booth allows you to rent two or three booth at the same time, all custom designed to maintain your corporate image. Do not look to drop out of the shows, rent your next trade show booth for a win win situation especially in these economic time.
