She can lie like no other
She can pray for her big brother
She can even swear her heart to another

She can be blind to hateful gestures
She can be deaf to hurtful words
She can be mute to hurtful rebukes

But there is only so much
A broken heart can mend
And there is only so much
She is willing to bend

All it took was for one boy who turned man
To turn her into what she could not band
And to heal her all it took was one boy
With a heart of gold and an unshakable faith

He was her superman for all purposes
Rescued her from herself and another's
Past doings. She fought for the friendship
After she left the relationship promised a
Promise she had kept but one that was
Not to be returned. And still supergirl got burned

She can fight battles she can fight wars
But she can't lose her best friend
She can't lose superman
Not even for her man

But even superman was not invincible
He had an unknown kryptonite in the form
Of love from which he walked away from
A promise he promised to keep
Until the sky fell from above.

So supergirl lost her best friend
And now she is on the mend again
