Sun Signs: Is it Powerlessness??
Do we have it in us to change ourselves or is it predetermined for us????
I have been a big fan of Sun signs. One of my friends actually introduced me to it. And it has kind of stuck on. With the passing of years my belief in sun signs has been further strengthened. I have observed people in my life and people around me and I strongly feel that people of a particular sun sign show very strong similarity in characteristics. And for people not familiar with it, it is not a means of predicting the future of individuals(please don't believe such things). It is just useful in predicting or understanding the behavior of individuals.
I am not going to give a big commentary on sun signs in this article. I just intend to answer the most burning question that trouble people when they think about sun signs. If the concept of sun signs was indeed true then it basically implies that all our characteristics are predetermined and we have no power to change ourselves. How dis-empowering this thought can be???
The basic premise of the theory of sun signs is that all of us have certain predispositions or tendencies (interests) from birth according to our date of birth. For e.g. A Gemini generally tends to be very social, a fast thinker and a smooth talker. Now these are certain gifts he possesses. Similarly every sun sign has a number of positives and a number of negatives.
Now can we change the negatives associated with our sun sign is the burning question?? For e.g. Rarely will you spot a Gemini reading for hours. He suffers from a serious attention problem. His fast mind keeps wandering away and therefore he never reads a book continuously. You can just expect him to give a cursory glance at the pages before he reaches the climax. This is because of his bundles of curiosity.
Now the question is "Is he pre-determined to be that way and no amount of practice or self discipline can change his reading habits??"
This brings me to my conclusion.
Geminis are that way because they choose to be that way. They see no problem with it. They choose to live life that way because of their inherent predispositions.Therefore it does not mean that he cannot change himself. Every man is capable of bringing about any change in himself.
The question here is of choice. They make their choices based on their sun signs(or innate tendencies) that ultimately decides their behavior and finally determines their character.
Sun signs helps identify those inherent inclinations of people. It does not bind any individual to certain pre-determined characters.
Therefore if we give it a deep thought sun signs actually help us to understand ourselves and the people around us and actually empowers us .
